I don't think that there should be. most if not all people who are here already would buy it but what should the bonus be. If it is to good then people who find out about this later cant get it.

I don't think pre-order inherently means exclusive items, it means buying the game early, which could have other perks like beta access, head start play, or just not having to buy it later :p, but to get to your real question, no, I don't think there should or will be any exclusive items or content available for pre-orders.

I think there should be pre-orders, I want to give the Devs my money for support asap, but I don't think there should be exclusive items or anything even remotely of an "advantage" given to me, beta op-ins and what not included.

Regardless of being rewarded anything from pre-ordering I'd throw my money at them. I like what I've seen so far despite how small or simple they looked, and anything else that comes to my attention will probably cause me to be more eager when Starbound releases. It's a win-win situation for me!

I just think that there would need to be some sort of incentive for people to get a pre-order. however I do agree that the Devs deserve my money.

On topic: I personally would like a pre-order, but with NO ingame bonus. Just being able to purchase it early would make me happy enough and give the devs money in support of the project.

And I would probably be 10x more anxious...

I hope there is pre-orders. (with no bonuses except maybe like an in game hat when it comes out) If I can't get the game soon i would have thrown all my money at the screen already.

    I agree with that.

If theirs no exclusive sure but pre-orders to me are a form of corporate greed trying to cash in before the reviews get out of weather the game is a flop or not and they add incentive for people to pre-order by adding exclusive items that should already be in the game to start with. Not saying Starbound team is like that after all they are just a indie game company.

TotalBiscuit said it about pre-order bonuses in his Mass Effect 3 video. It shouldn't be anything that affects gameplay.

That being said, I wonder what a TF2 Starbound promo hat would be? TF2 hats always boost sales.

ehhh, i would want everyone to get the game at the same time so the internet can explode with joy;)

^Not this. The sheer amount of exploding awesome from all of us playing Starbound at the exact same instant would crash The Internets. I think it should be something purely decorative if we get something from pre-orders. Like an ornamental plant to go in some forgotten corner of our Space Station.

V Also this. I wanna give them my money NOW, so that what I get LATER rocks more face.

In my honest opinion, I'd love a pre-order. I believe I can trust the devs with my money. The more well funded they are, the better the finished product can potentially be. Just the chance of that is inherently a good thing.

Yeah I would also love to have pre-order, its possibly the same reason as why I wanted pre-order for Terraria, so I don't have to worry about money problems later, for example, I have the enough amount of cash needed for the game and its a week left before its released, poof, something breaks and I HAVE to buy a new one which makes me penny-less for the release... So yeah, pre-order would be awesome.

I would actually quite like a pre-order...even though I should be saving my money just in case I need it, pre-ordering one indie game can't hurt that much. Although I don't think that what is essentially a disc one nuke should be included as a bonus...a few pointless things just for decoration or a random clothing set might be a nice touch, definitely better than 'You gave us money early, here, have a massive rocket launcher and 100 ammo'...saying that, that would be fun, despite how that 100 ammo would be gone rather quickly...along with a planet (maybe half a planet, dependent on the power). I would be throwing all of my money at the screen, but I have coins and no notes (there's a £2 coin there too), so it wouldn't end well for my laptop.

I'd love to be able to pre-order it . I don't need any bonuses . I just want to make sure that I get it as soon as it releases :D
(Who knows maybe my internet dies one day later)

How about a TF2 hat in starbound with your pre-order. Instead of a starbound hat in TF2.

Personally I dont like pre orders that give ANY ingame items that have stats (IE. Weapons, Armor), but if its just costumes or cool looking but HIGHLY ineffective weapon then I have no qualms with it
