Should Starbound have its own Creepy Pasta???

In the end, I think it's a question of when rather than if. Makes me wonder if there's an internet rule dealing with creepypastas, a la rule 34.

 

As long as it has hyper realistic blood, its ok. If not then its dumb, because all good creepypastas have hyper realisic blood.

 

I would really like to see some creepy missions or environments in the game.

 

I know, as i was typing out my "You meet the ghost of an stranded explorer" creepypasta idea I actually thought it might be an interesting mission. You meet the person, help them get things to survive or escape then after the final mission you return to find they have been dead for the past several years.

 

Creepy Pasta is dumb about 99.9 percent of the time. I'd rather Starbound not get into this amateur crap and sully the game

 

I agree that it seems for every 1 brilliant one is followed by 99 bad attempts. Personally I hope that people don't force creepypastas or memes for the game, while some can be good trying to force them just leads to horrible crap and not even the hilariously bad "Real-life consequences" kind.

I have been talking to my friend about how many creepy stories you could do just with the limited lore of the Zelda universe. With the lore of starbound you could definitely have tales of the ghost of sacrificed avians haunting temples or Apex who were silenced permanently by the minikong. but I know we will likely get more of that gorefest stuff and that story of some dev's friend/family/favorite bank clerk trolling everyone for all eternity.

 

Memes aren't funny, and they certainly aren't scary. So there's that problem. The slenderman is about as scary as confession bear, and elicits in most people the same emotion: *clicks on something else*.

 

Yeah memes aren't scary. Some I have found funny at first then despised after seeing it for the 6000th time.

Sorry I got off on a slight meme tangent in my last post, was thinking back to someone trying to start a meme of editing the florans face in one screenshot.

 

I seriously don't want another herobrine its not even scary in fact in the world of minecraft its their mascot??? what???!!!!

Lets hope if there's that 1 good one and people get the common sense not to spam a bazillion bad ones or memes after that if someone makes
a starbound horror story.(but they probably will......)

I wouldn't call that a creepy pasta because it honestly made me laugh my [enter curse word here].
That plus i pretty sure that person sufferered some srs hit to the head and demanded he post a thread before
he'd be sent to the hospital to deal with his concussion.

 

Yeah he was kinda creepy at first, being a ghost that just watched you, always. Then he kinda got made into Israphel or whoever from the yogscast minecraft videos or whatever. Now he is so spammed you can't post minecraft stories to creepypasta wiki and really is like the mascot. Heck I saw mojang's stance on adding him go from "maybe" to "we don't plan to" because he just got so darn annoying.

Not getting a bunch of bad stories and meme based on a good story (or the 1000s of other things people use for inspiration) would be nice but we will get those. Have to take the good with the bad and the truly awful.

 

Please, for the love of God, someone make one. NOW. I need it for... science and such.

 

The Official Starbound Creepy Pasta Stuff:

I was playing starbound. There was a glitch and blood happened. Ahh. Then it crashed. I died in the real life. OMG.

 

We could only make some based on what lore we have now but it will likely not be as good as one that use the full lore or gameplay which we can't describe right now.

Also I hope the game has more than one creepypasta since their should be potential for several good ones and that one elevated creepypasta thing like "Herobrine" being the minecraft creepypasta leads to that flood of remakes in hope of getting that same fame. Minecraft did have a few non-herobrine submissions on CP wiki (most were bad though) but it did seem like a lot operated on building off "that one popular creepypasta". Really it would be neat to have one good creepy ghost story based on each of the races. Dead Novakid sheriff patrolling a ghost town trying to find the bandit that shot him? A vengance filled floran warrior still trying to avenge his fallen tribe 200 years later? A dead glitch king (depending on if glitch have spirits of course) haunting the castle where he murdered everyone when he went mad with grief from the loss of his son and sole heir?

Actually we just need some good old fashioned ghost stories to tell to friends in game.

 

You're right, totally, And I can't wait till we can create or hear about some of those stories in-game, which, once again makes me want this game.

 

Yes, and then SCP will come and give us all amnesiacs and lock up every single retail copy (Read: none) of Starbound on site-19.

It's a sort of scary story you write involving something scary. Like, Slenderman is creepypasta, Herobrine is one too.

Or, more specifically, creepypastas are basically just ghost stories for the internet age. The difference being that all the crappy ones can't be forgotten because the internet saves them.
