The subject is pretty self explanatory. for those who don't know what a creepy pasta is it is essentially the internet's version of a ghosts story like slender man for example. I think it possible because since their are so many possible planets thiers no telling what your gonna get (like a haunted planet).

After all mine craft has its own creepy pasta why not have this game have its
    own unique one?

    what do you guys think?

Sure why not... Even shadow of the colosus was surrounded by the myth of 17th collosus hidden somewhere in the game. It is a possibility

Didn't someone already do some sort of weird creepypasta-esque thing a little while ago? I seem to remember a couple of weeks back someone posting about the "true history of Starbound's development" that involved (I think) Nazis and weird, mutated humans. I'll go trawl through the forums in a sec.

Granted, you were asking about in-game creepypasta rather than out-of-game though.

    Edit: Here we go!

    I can make one.

Once upon a time I was sitting in my house contemplating what game I should get next. I am a master gamer (I even know how to get to the warp pipes in Super Mario bros!) who was bored and had played all his games to exhaustion, and was therefore looking for something fresh.

So anyway, I was jogging down the street and happened upon an old man selling his collection of video games. One caught my eye: A copy of the game called Starbound. Known to many as one of the greatest games of this generation. There was something wrong with the copy though, the box was black and had a badly written label saying "BLOOD, DEATH AND SATAN BOUND". I decided to buy it anyway, what harm could a bootleg do?

Anyway, I came back home and placed the small, circular disc into my PC (yet another reason I am a master gamer, I use a modern PC for gaming rather than those crappy DOS things) and began to play.

When the game booted up, everything seemed normal except for the sky: it was Blood Red.

I created my character and started the game and that's when the trouble began: Immediately, a whole cluster of tentacles and sprang from the back of my monitor, tearing at the walls and spitting blood all over the room. My parents checked to see if I was okay, but the tentacles merely tore them apart as if they were nothing but butter. The tentacles then began to spew flame, burning the whole country and all it's inhabitants to a crisp.

I watched on, "bloody romhacks" I thought, and continued to play.

Eventually the game allowed me to play as my character, but there was something wrong: their eyes were pitch black. It was then , for this sole reason, that I realized that this was not a romhack, the game was haunted.

My character began to cry blood, while a white figure stepped into the scene and started to laugh while blood began to fly from his mouth, then blood started to fall from the sky then blood grew on all the trees and the grass was blood and the water turned into blood and Satan came out of my monitor and turned me into a blood demon.

-this is a suicide note left by James Ehcilc, he was found hung from a rope made out of his own blood from a ceiling made out of blood and had ingested a large amount of blood before dying.

^^^ nearly every video game creepypasta ever.

You should ask omni for dis kind of stuff. I'm pretty damn sure he would love to add a disturbing, creepy and super-rare event somewhere in the game.

Then somebody could create weird explanations of the phenomen to create starbound“s very own creepy pastablub.

You just have to play slender or whatever horror game you want to understand that.

In games like that, you always know that something can pop at your face at any time. But when the monster/pshycho/evil-pony really jumps at you, you still stain your pants.

This would be cool, plus it doesn't even have to be a massive event either. It could just be some creepy sound effect easter eggs or small occurances that play under very specific circumstances or something like that.

it really does depend. if the creepy pasta becomes something like "Herobrine" where every bit of the young audience falls and has a legit belief that it exist, then no thanks; it becomes rather annoying and then trolls will over use it to destroy immersion/servers.
