Refunds doesn't just mean paying it back. It means a lost fan. It also means we have to cover banking costs and tax meaning it actually takes money out of the total.

Oh, I agree completely, which is why I've edited my OP to reflect my willingness to have the beta in 2013, but push the release back to 2014.
I had never expected this level of politeness in this thread. I feel honored.

Im really sorry to hear that, Bartwe. But i hope that you guys can see that at least some of the concerns of the community are justified (like 20%) of them.

I agree. Beta 2013. Game by, hopefully, spring or summer 2014. Or more, if they need to take longer.

Would be cool to have a poll on this thread, just to see the numbers adding up.

If only I can add a poll to this thread. Although when I've created this thread, I never thought about doing beta in 2013, and full release in 2014, so that option technically won't even be there.

Yeah, I wasn't saying refunds don't hurt Chucklefish, just giving a bit of context about the guy who requested the refund since the original post is nuked. Sorry if I downplayed how bad mass refunds would be.

IRC. Thought I'd just put this down here... If it stirs the pot, feel free to remove the post Bart.

    Nevertheless, it's not good.

A PAYING customer claims that there's something he dislikes in a product, OR it's development. You can't call that good thing.

Let's all be patient. I honestly worry about having a working beta by 2013, but I hope they're not short on time.

Sorry, I really didn't think out that post. Never meant to imply it was a good thing, it is a horrible thing to lose funds and fans.

I'm already getting bored of Cubeworld. :/ There just isn't very much content and the monsters are way too OP.

Let's face it, developer's almost never have enough time to work on something. They are straining however and that bothers me greatly. They need a break and soon.

Agreed. A looser schedule would mean better working environment for the chuckling fishes, which would benefit everyone in turn.

Maybe they should work on scaling, like what the Devs at starbound is doing.

Even a month off or something? I know saying this would make many cringe, but they may need it at some point. Maybe after beta come's out? I don't know, I can not speak for them.

A simple like isn't enough. This is exactly how i feel and my point. It's not the wait for release and all the pretty features, realistic bed mechanics, music generation, farming, eating, cooking, taming, dancing, emoticons, and all the other things this game will have that will just add to the "wow, it even has this?" effect people will have. It is the nothing we have till then. I'd rather have something now/soon and grab a hold of what else is to come as it's ready. Cause that's what we will be doing post release too. They won't stop adding things, it will be very similar. So yeah, once we have beta to at least mess around with when we feel like i don't mind how long it takes to make perfect.

P.S. I do know beta is not just early access, but after all this time of waiting you can bet your sweet ass i'll be playing around for a good while before i go looking at things with a magnifying glass for proper bugs. Reporting those i see, sure, but not with scrutiny.

Bottom line of it is, they already took people's money. Pushing back the release date further is no longer an option unless they want a good chunk of their preorders to ask for refunds.

Apologies, but I think you need to give it a few more months at the very least. Bart did say that they have many more months of works ahead of them. Whether it means a working beta, or a full product, I don't know, but I hope we can get beta in 2013, and they can push back the full release of the game however long they'd like.

Honestly I wouldn't mind them pushing it back but I feel like one of two things would make pushing it back more acceptable to myself and maybe others
    a) release a beta for those who have been waiting anxiously. It's getting to the point where more people are being turned off at not being able to play game as opposed to the possibility of some being turned off at bugs and such in a beta (or video game for that matter.) As gamers we 'should' be aware that bugs exists and especially so in beta.
    b) take the extra funds and hire some more people for the dev team. I watched Bartwe before he turned off the the live stream today. I asked in chat how long he had been going and several responded several, if not many, hours of coding non-stop. While I appreciate the dev team working so hard on the game I feel like they are slaving away to meet demands of a 2013 release.

The 2013 time line was established as a guesstimate over six months ago. After so many features being added... is it even a valid estimate at this time with the amount of people on the dev team and the pace of the game?

Just my two cents. Don't shoot the messenger. Now I gotta go back and read these four pages that blew up in an hour.
