Should Chucklefish Push Back The Release Date to 2014?

just gimme a beta within estimate and they can push the full release back as long as they damn well please.

 

Agreed. The beta might come out in 2013, but I don't want the devs worrying about the full release until later. They deserve at least that much.

 

They HAVE to release the beta this year. Failing to do so will result in a mass refund spree. Since they are working with the money the got from pre orders, things will be Dark.

 

I agree too,even if the game go for late 2014 it's does not matter if they polish it,we only want a release date of beta on 2013 ,people only need to know.

 

Agreed. The beta can be released with flaws, which means that the Devs won't have to work as hard to meet that deadline. They really do need a break.

 

I think it's kind of a given that "final release" won't happen this year...
Let's "worry" about beta before we discuss full release IMO.

That doesn't mean they can go on "We don't gief a fuvk." mentality. They did get like 1,5 million dollars out of the pre-order. If they DIDN'T care about their customers, that could soon drop to 1 million, or even 750 thousand dollars due to refunds. I know I am too lazy to go for refund and I wouldn't, because I'd rather think of my "purchase" as a "donation", and you really can't go asking for refunds at Red Cross now can you?

We've already seen some forum members post "I'm gonna' get refunds soon." If some people are willing to do that and publicly announce it, just think how many non-forum members and nameless people are going to go for it as well? Honestly, I am rather worried.

From what's finished now, I don't feel like a stable, working build of the game within six months is unreasonable. Whether they call it a beta or a release, that's what I expect by the end of the year.

 

Cube World its an amazing game. I Cant believe that game sometimes. And its 40mb.

This thread started off with one idea, but we've refined it, changed it, and agreed upon it. This is how people should act, and I'm just glad it didn't devolve into something ugly. You guys are awesome.

 

Just let them work on the game and send me an email whenever they are ready. I have more important things to fill my time with rather than wishing for a video games release, for heavens sake.

The guy who got the 500 back had like 4 tiers worth of forum badges so i think he just felt his purchase of the 500 tier was a bit much and with some stuff he didn't agree with going on it made him feel bad. He didn't pull all his funds, just that which he felt now was too excessive.

 

No wrong done in participating is there? Discussing interests is another thing entirely.

They can certainly release Early Beta access in 2013, three to six months is plenty of time for that. Beta means feature complete, not bug free. The game being completed is an entirely different can-of-worms. But they can and should do Beta this year. I think Bart was just apologizing for people that it wasn't ready "now" not that it should be pushed back. That's the wrong conclusion.
