Should bullets be added?

    I know people might like the idea of infinite ammo, even if it's in random bursts. But I kind of like the idea of having ammo be the main resource for non plasma weapons.

    Would make copper, iron, and all those other crappy metals more useful than just shoving it all into the magical pixel maker.

    Would be interesting to be able to make your own ammo types instead of just having a gun be "lucky" enough to shoot sticky bombs and etc.

    In my opinion yes, but it is obviouse the devs will be using the pho-mana system of energy for ranged weapon use.

    Also, looks like it's voting more towards no.
    Anyone want to explain why theyd rather have this system?

    How about the tamales, tortas, enchiladas, arroz mejicano or buneulos options. Also they toyed around with ammo earlier in development, they have decided to use energy I highly doubt they will change their minds on this. Personally I like ammo was sad when the new xcom removed that :/

    Nope. It would add way too much micromanagement for my tastes. I'd prefer a gun modification system to give you the effects that you want, such as fire, cold, elect, etc instead of ammo.

    In a game that has me juggling so much inventory as it is, I'd hate to have to manage ammo on top of it. Ammo wouldn't make the game more difficult or interesting, just more tedious.

    Really now. I couldn't see that much micromanaging coming up.
    Would be cool to have a machine designed to press bullets you could place. Easy UI. Just open, select bullet, use up all dat dere titanium that does absolutely nothing end game.

    I just find the guns so bland right now. Maybe Debris' idea would help. Some kind of gun modifications instead of hoping you get a low energy gun that shoots sticky bombs or some other oddity.

    Even today I saw a suggestion thread about implementtation of traditional, ammo-requiring firearms as an alternative to energy ones. And it's not the first thread. Apparently big part of the community would like such and to be honest - I am not surprised. It certainly fits the setting more than running around with bastard swords, it wouldn't be forced onto anyone.. it would just offer a choice, both in equiping characters and in tactical situations, a'la 'should I whip out that nice gun ammo for is very scarce and expensive or leave it for another day?'. Thus, I am all for it as is big part of the community (actually, I think it's the first or second - from about haqlf a dozen - poll about this where 'no' is prevalent).

    I feel it would give guns their own tactical combat compared to swords.
    Swords/daggers/hammers. Gotta be close, chance to be damage if touched, body slammed, fly swarmed, etc.
    Guns. Range, special damage types you can craft, requires ammo so you actually have to work for them.

    Right now guns are so..eh.. that running into someone with a sword seems much quicker and easier. Even when using a gun I just use it till i run out of energy then charge in with the sword.

    This whole discussion is pointless. It would be better for you guys to plan an ammo mod then believe the devs will change their minds on this. They once had an ammo and energy system and decided to go full energy and no ammo.

    i think they should have weapons that utilize energy as a power source and those that utilize actual ammo. energy weapons should be kind of slow but high damage, ballistic weapons should be low to medium damage but quick and consistant. the other thing that would be nice is to have different ammo types for ballistic weapons, made from different types of materials.

    no. I don't think hoarding bullets is any better. I like it how it is, generally, but will obviously need adjustments.

    What if guns could be modified with tech, similar to characters? These techs would be crafted or looted from chests and would give the gun different ammo. This keeps the energy>ammo system in place but allows a single gun to fire different ammo.

    EDIT: Hell, while we're at it, what if all weapons could be modified with this tech? Both melee weapons & ranged weapons can take elemental techs (like the fire, electric, poison, etc.), guns can take ammo techs, bows + arrows could take arrow tech, etc.

    Weapon tech would change fire mode or add an element.
