Shift-click crash then world reset?

Ok, so I just finished fully raiding the prison near my spawn point on my planet. For reference, I have played yesterday, and save and quitted every time I exited the game.

So I collected loot from the prison. By killing the humans in there, a shield of some sort was dropped.

I go back to ship, shift-click said shield into the ship storage, and at that exact moment (therefore I doubt it was by coincidence) the game locks up. I tab out, then every single other program (chrome, skype, steam) lock up as soon as I click on them. Basically computer-wide freeze.

I go back into the game, ship and inventory are the exact same as when it crashed.

However, the world is not. All the caves, terrain, trees, prison, prison humans, basically the whole world is back to exactly how I found it. No sign of habitation.

Once again, ship and inventory are perfectly fine and did not lose anything but world reset to exactly how it was when I first booted the game up.
