Share Your Plans for Your New Stable Playthrough

I did not intend for this to happen. There was a problem that caused the game to crash after creating a new character, preventing it from being saved. I took to trying with the default randomly generated character just to test it, so that I wouldn't have to painstakingly craft my preferred character for this playthrough (a cyan and pink Hylotl process artist named Tanno). I did not anticipate what would happen when it actually worked. All of my plans were ruined by this beautiful prince.

I can't just delete it. It's too perfect in some odd patchwork manner. All of my plans were ruined! Now instead of creating sculptures out of large slabs of metal and other materials, I must find another gimmick. Maybe this one will seek to build a palace of hanging gardens in the sky populated by interesting species. I haven't played a collector before.

I'm also going to work to make this a more adventurous playthrough, where I do less grinding for materials (e.g. coal to use for torches) and use my flashlight instead. Or instead of crafting bandages use what I can buy from merchants and meat that I get. Or instead of placing blocks to reach various ledges or as a safe way down into a pit, I'll use climbing ropes.

 

My plans are pretty simple. Go as slow as possible, take as much time as I can. It'll probably be a long wait until any next major patch (not as long as the last wait though), so I want to make it last.

 

I will make a colloseum, and make NPCs fight monsters for my favor.

Anyway, I'm going to do quests in the outpost and just help people out. Gonna play a Novakid drug dealer named Leonidas "Quickscope" Maximillian.

 

Build something friggen huge, to the level of terraforming. maybe I'll make a poll as to what biome to do it on, but I'm leaning towards asteroid.

 

Asteroid biomes are cool.

If you don't mind my asking, what kind of player converter?

 

Underwater city, just off the beach. I'll call it Atlanta.

 

Floran. Underwater Base. Whining on the forums about lack of steamworks integration and how the devs have to start posting on steam and lots of other plans that I'm not going to spoil.

 

Explore, upgrade my gubbins then ultimately do what I do in most games with a sandbox building aspect; build a red brick base. Maybe a red brick Moonbase this time, that sounds absurdly outlandish compared to what I've been used to in Minecraft/Terraria.

I'm also planning to finally try and get my hands on some vehicles, I imagine they'd be cool as heck (assuming they're in).

 

Chucklefish have mentioned working on a conversion tool, for th eold player files.

 

My Novakid may open a museum, to share the wonders of the galaxy to the common people.

 

I am continuing to play with my unstable character. Which I will be playing the way I did with the prior version. Build where and what I want. I got to build my universe somehow. Slow as my pace may be, I do plan to get to point of building eventually. I haven't really built much yet.

I still have hopes to do so, and will when the time arrives. Searching around the universe for spots is daunting, but like building little small things through my travels. I will probably create a normal mode character when hunger gets worked in again, but that will be a time off for the future. As for now I will just continue to do what I have been doing, collecting resources to build with so I will have the materials ready when needed.

Glad I got the 1st expansion to my ship, so now I am officially a freighter carrying my supplies that I collect along the way. Enjoying what I have so far, no matter how slow I am going with the progression.
