Shadow people. will it become a race?

My speculation is they are incomplete.

Also, Midnight planets are mostly found in blue star systems as primary planets, and red star systems as satellites.

 

Oops. My bad. I'm currently in Frozen system, that's true. Memory tricks (I remembered there are neughbouring magmatic planets -- there are, but the system is blue).

I don't usually go on careless imagination voyages, but when I do, I lock my C.O. in the wardrobe.
Another thing, there are small pitch black catlike... things at some of the ruined shrines. These always smile when I'm passing through. Always makes my Floran feel uneasy.

 

Don't worry, they are friendly! I've caught the full range of critter species from the Midnight planets... and they play well with my other pets

I too am intrigued by this race. I don't see them as creepy -- more as pitiable. Perhaps they are not mute at all. Maybe they communicate with a form of telepathy, but it can't penetrate our armored headgear.

I always feel sorry for them, that they don't want to wear colorful clothes. Maybe they are blind all together, like so many species on earth that are stuck in the darkness, (e.g. deep underwater or in caverns).

Incidentally, I always kill monsters that are attacking them... and I feel bad when I steal their windchimes. (The chimes don't scan into the 3D printer, so they must be "harvested"). And I do wonder what the sail things are for... perhaps another "wind instrument" that makes a particular sound?

 

I always found it strange that we have races out there seeming to be quite sentient we cannot play. like the shroom people, and now the shadow people.

 

Theres a lot of races like that. Agarans like you mentioned (shroom people), the penguins (subspecies of avians apparently), the bunny people, the frogs (subspecies of hylotl apparently), the alpackas, etc. In terms of game mechanics they arent races just costumes (and some differences in AI for some cases, mainly things they say).

They wont add any playable race that dosen't follow the standard body template, since doing so would force them to make new spirites for every armor/clothing item ingame that the new body template would use. Se while we have (for example) agaran and alpacka costumes, they won't ever be added as real playable races since the head shape of a agaran is so different (unless they squeeze all that into the helmet like they do with some of the more extreme hair options) and the whole body shape of a alpacka is so different.

 

You guys know- tiy could be LYING about another race.

 

Hmm.. Is there an admin command to spawn them in?

On one hand I find the way the CSS on the character creation screen and the empty slot on the gate are set up to be highly suspicious. On the other hand, I come from a fandom where this was actually highly needed, so accusations of devs being liars aren't going to hold much water with me unless I see the interviews first and examine the way they were worded.

Perhaps it would be better if someone linked all of the topics in which this was addressed onto this thread so it would be easier for new members of the community like myself to see for themselves what's going on with this "no more playable races" thing.

I need to make sure it wasn't simply that they weren't taking any more suggestions. I mean, at the very least they seem to have had something on the table and scrapped it from the looks of the CSS and the stone gate, so if it really ISN'T being worked on then I think it would be nice to see an explanation of why.
