SEVERE Lack of loot?

I noticed the game is pretty harsh when it comes to handing out loot. I've stumbled upon I believe 10 underground dungeons, only 1 of which actually had a chest in it, with 1 piece of tech. The rest were bare, and offered no reward for dying 300 times trying to get through them. ( I was fighting waaay above my level, so death is my own fault)

It's simply depressing running into dead end after dead end, eventually coming out of the dungeon empty handed 9 times out of 10, especially since they're not that common.

    Anyone else feeling this way?

Yeah the dungeons suck for loot if you don't need melee weapons, which they'll be more than happy to toss at your feet, over, and over, and over again.

They need to either spread the loot tables to the various boxes and closets you find in those dungeons, or put a chance for 2-4 chests to spawn in them... That or start putting better loot on the mobs themselves...

I'm having a similar issue. I've been wandering aimlessly for the passed 5 hours, at least, looking for dungeons. Not a single one has had any appreciable loot in it other than pixels, bones, and the occasional stim pack.

I'm sure that the equipment isn't spread out well. It is obvious when the best armor that can be made is always 5 levels below the boss of the tier. Can get lucky with a drop from a mini-boss / champion / what-ever-the-accepted-term-is random spawn. Chests seem to be useless aside from the biome special ones that give out related blueprints. So far, I think the only place I've seen that feels any bit complete is the Glitch Castle that I raided and got this scroll thing as a back accessory.

Simply put, the game is not even roughly balanced. It is staggered in the worst way. There aren't even guns for us to have fun with, or at least I haven't seen any as drops. Tier 2 chests seem to get better at least, as some had multiple uncommon weapons and even 1h swords.

For melee it's good to find a mini boos cus they will drop a legendary, probably be a Bonehammer but you can't complain about that!
For guns you need to find a skyfort that's the right level as I think they always have a gun trader.

I agree that most dungeons don't really offer much when it comes to loot. This could need some work. (Not TOO much thouch please)

All the melee weapons you're able to find are never powerful enough to consider not immediately throwing away :( And exactly, it's so tough fighting those guys with guns, and I'm always hoping "maybe he'll drop a gun for me if I do this!" but nope, just another horrible melee weapon.

It's come to the point where I see a dungeon and say "Oh cool, some furniture!"

Damnit, you mean that sky ship had a gun trader on it? I killed everyone there hoping they'd DROP guns. Man I'm playing this wrong

The part I like is where you have dudes with machine guns shooting at you, you kill them, and you get a crappy melee weapon for loot...

I realize there needs to be progression but it's kind of silly to beam down from a spaceship just to re-enact the stone age.

My problem is more dire. I lost my sword somehow before I really made anything. Only weapon is the bow which as far as I can tell causes only meat and leather to drop. I have no way of gaining pixels. It's really frustrating. Pixels are required in order to make any new melee weapons. Am I missing something? Is there a way to get a weapon or earn pixels I don't know about? It will literally take like twenty hours of wandering aimlessly and digging to come across enough pixels in the world in the shallow caves I find to make a new weapon/. I'm completely stymied.

I've found an Avian town that had chests filled with ores, weapons, pixels, food and stimpacks, so the chests definitely can be rewarding, but it's few and far between.

Guns are gonna drop from minibosses with the update, but before then you could find them from avian sky pirates, and merchants in towns (this I'm not 100% on, but I think I remember an Avian merchant with some guns for sale). From what I've seen, tiny Arid planets have a high chance of having Sky Pirates, so you should raid all of those of the level guns you're looking for. It's quick too. Once you pass a town or a dungeon on the tiniest kind of planet, you're done.

Entire planets in general don't have much loot at the moment. The only guaranteed "treasure" on any given planet is Coal and Copper. Most planets have nothing else.

The devs listen, so if we call attention to it, it'll get better <3

I have to tend to agree, I would like a somewhat more rewarding loot table. My most exciting treasure hunts land me with milk, bananas, and crappypoopslapper paddlestrokers. I do feel however that when more of the planned content is added that it will open up more avenues for loot. There could be things related to preorder vanity rewards, monster taming, etc. I'm sure there's plenty of things to come. However if it stays so sparse, that's a little bit of a bummer.

Not that I don't like milk and bananas, mind you.

Of course, not all dungeons should have stellar loot and techs hidden in them. However, they should all at least have *something* worthwhile. It's a really shitty feeling to spend a half hour in a dungeon, only to come up empty handed.

Especially when you have to put up with enemies that can one-shot you, despite having armor above the threat level of the planet, which is fairly unbalanced in my opinion. It doesn't help that the guns are procedural, so you have no reliable way of assessing how much damage a particular enemy will deal to you. Until a red 100 pops up above your head. And then you get to play the "spend 5 minutes walking back to the dungeon" game.

Even if it was just a nice stack of pixels, as long as I didn't feel completely bummed.

Except no game should be built around its exploits. Having no loot just because "it was easy to exploit the system" isn't exactly reasonable logic. The problem with the system is a problem that should be fixed, not have the core gameplay suffer because of it while it's LEFT IN the game. Hell, people wouldn't even feel the need to cheese everything if the combat was even remotely balanced. They seriously need to do away with this reliance on "armor penetration" mechanic entirely. It makes the game either too unfair for legitimate play or too easy just because this value is greater than this other value. It is single handedly killing off any notion of "skill". But I digress...

Some dungeons don't even have a chest. Period.

It us very, very scarce to find good loot for me. my friend has found 4 minibosses and each one dropped a legendary . i after hours and hours of looking for a mini boss finally get one and it dropped a really slow uncommon sword that immediately disappeared from my inventory. I'm not satisfied with the looting system at all.

Shame, when you tend to find better loot just in random treasure chest laying about. Instead of being heavily guarded... Almost... Too easy.
