Modding Discussion [Service] Filling mod requests

    The modding API is preventing me from creating the types of mods I want to make. Thus, all my ideas are blocked at being just ideas. If anyone would like a particular mod created, but don't have the means to do it themselves, I'll give it a go.

    Things to keep in mind:
    • I'm not an artist. I can cover all the code and provide reasonable placeholders.
    • I work 9-5, EST. Meaning I'll start filling requests ~10 hours from this post.
    • Not all requests can be filled, due to technical limitations.

    Well... if you're bored why don't you make a mod for projectile weapon creation? Or auto turrets?

    Not a request, just seems like something that might be interesting for the community, and it should keep your desires to code satiated.

    A tool for creating game assets in general would probably be useful.

    Auto turrets seem fun.

    If at all possible, would you be able to make Terra in esper form from Final Fantasy VI? It's the character in my avatar, though it's a "cute" version. A naked sprite, or an armor set to use as a costume... either is fine. If it's a sprite, then I can get "The Empress' New Clothes" mod to see the sprite. Please and thank you.

    I'll see what I can do. I can't promise anything for sure. Normally, I wouldn't attempt something like this, but it has a good base of sprite art, since it's from an SNES game.

    I've tried working on a mod that features Kirk and Picards phasers. Ive created the image of them but I'm not sure how to sufficiently code this.
    Maybe you could?

    I can share my files if you like, or if anyone else.

    Sharing at least the images would be really helpful. I assume you want them to be weapons in the game. That said: Is there a particular level you want them to be useful for? How much damage? Do you want them to scale as you progress?

    I was planning on very fast, very low stream of damage. Scaling is preferential.

    First off, thanks for offering your service, I'd make this myself if I knew how.

    However, I'm looking for a mod that will allow me to scan and print building blocks in the 3D printer. Since mining times of some blocks are extremely slow, and the game lacks any 'creative' game mode at all, I have no way to freely build with blocks that I may find along the way. That being said, the ability to scan a block into my 3D printer, and then print them at a low or no cost, would make building a million times easier. Thoughts?

    is there actually a way to make weapons scale with you? or do you just make multiple leveled ones that can be crafted?

    I've had a thought percolating for a while, now. Actually three thoughts, but all tech related.

    • A tech that lets you use two of your other equipped techs (that don't have conflicting inputs) when active, at a slightly higher cost.
      • Failing that, recipes that become available with combinations of existing techs you've unlocked (that don't have conflicting inputs) to make a "combined tech" that gives the effects of both the techs needed for them. Example: A "Wave Boost" tech, allowing both dash and double jump.
    • Techs that work with your weapons to give them "special moves". Things like when you do an attack in the air with a two-handed weapon, you'll do a spinning attack with a 360 degree arc, or holding down attack and double-tapping with a spear does a charging attack. Or a tech for a short-range energy pulse with high knockback that you can launch in front of you by using a shield and then clicking the other mouse button. Maybe have your character call out an attack name (A percent of the time?) when doing them.

    Actually, I would love to see a pulse jump+dash all in one tech mod. That would make me extremely happy.

    Could you perhaps edit mining lamp so it actualy hangs down all the time instead of rotating with character's hand? Second thing, could you try to get backpiece stick lantern so said lantern would wave to the sides a bit when character walks?

    Cosmetic stuff as you can see.
