Server Help Servers through Hamachi don't work anymore.

Ever since the update before the big combat update I haven't been able to join anyone using Hamachi or host through Hamachi, which is the only way I can host games. I'm not sure what to do because Hamachi has always worked before. And anyone saying you have to port forward, you don't have to port forward when you're using Hamachi. It would be great if anyone has any way to fix this. Thanks.

 

I think I said this in another thread but I'm not sure if anybody tried it, if you have the bandwidth/connection/time, try and delete the server executable and then "Verify Integrity of Game Cache" on Steam, so that it redownloads the server executable. If you're using SteamCMD let me know.

I am not promising this will work but I had many very strange issues with the server since the patch, and doing this kinda fixed everything.

 

That didn't work either. And I'm not using SteamCMD.

 

You must be running a different version than the server. They both need to be the same.

 

You think I haven't thought of that? Not trying to be rude, but I've tried many different things today. Just about fed up with it.

 

My starbound hamachi server broke too after the update. My friend cannot connect no matter what i do. I've tried many of the solution on the forum , even reinstalling doesn't work.

 

Yeah, ever since the new update I haven't been able to connect to my friend's Hamachi server. Or rather, I CAN connect, but only after I do all of these firewall shenanigans, and even then the connection is REALLY bad. It was not this way before the update at all and I seem to be the only one with these issues. I have no idea what to do.

ETA: Oh, and sometimes if I try to do something like jumping into the depths, it freezes and gives me the "Client-server connection no longer valid" message. About all I can do without lag spikes is sit on my ship and chat.

That sucks. If you're interested you can grab one of our servers (https://simplenode.co/starbound). I know hamachi can be a pain to keep running sometimes, I used to host a minecraft server for friends back a while back and it kept bugging out on me

 

I'm having the same issue. It's not a windows or mac specific thing either, both my mac and pc cannot host or connect to a hamachi server.

Simplenode, if you aren't going to help with the issue at hand you're in no position to advertise for your own servers.

 

I think I have way around it using the computers ip address which is found in Cmd by the command config should be the ipv4 under the lan

 

Despite doing all my configurations right and being able to play with people on certain services (like Evolve), I can't get hamachi to work with my Starbound server either, it's odd.
