Now with my experience in servers, starbound is a weird one. My friend, who usually has horribly atrocious luck with servers, could open a hamachi network and play on his server straight out of the box without any changes to configs. Me, on the other hand, has tried nearly damn everything, Hamachi and Port Forwarding. And it still does not work. Could anyone help me with this?

Sure i can help you... i can tell you i'm in same boat and have tried every trick in the book and still doesn't work...

But here is a checklist of things to check...
1: make sure 21025 port is forwarded on both the router and firewall
2: make sure your friend has done the same thing
3: make sure you edit your config file and insure that default passwords are deleted, or changed to what ever your friends server is using.
4: If you are using hamachi make sure that upnp in both cfg and the config file are turned to false, hamachi wont work with out this.
5: if you are trying to connect to your own server and cant be sure you are using 127.0.0.1 as the ip this will connect you not your own ip.
6 can try a local static ip but this did not alot for me at all...
    7. if this all fails go to your search bar after you hit start and type cmd, and type tracert <friends ip> see where it dies at could be the isp in question.

To be fair i've tried everything i can think of and nothing has worked for me so i dunno i'm pretty stumped.
