Server Discussion Server Crashes and RAM - A Query

So I've been running a Starbound server on Debian 64-bit for some friends. It crashes routinely every 3-10 hours or so, often 5 hours'ish. I am constantly restarting it. Restarting it is a simple matter: I'm not facing weird issues like corrupted universe files or etc (and frankly, that both startles and impresses me with the rate at which this crashes.)

Now, don't get me wrong, this is a beta, I fully expect crashes.

What I wonder about is whether this is a thing other people are experiencing - random crashes that give stack dumps but don't actually harm anything - with this degree of frequency. This is running on a VPS with limited RAM and no virtual memory. Instead, it's got Burst RAM up to 2gb from 1gb. Meaning, the RAM above 1gb is not always available, just when the server can spare it and nobody else is using it. Starbound's 64-bit server routinely maxes out the 2gb but I notice it keeps trucking somehow without virtual memory, or it breaks my VPS's RAM monitoring at times but keeps going until eventually it isn't.

What kind of RAM usage are your servers using and how many players average are you getting? How many crashes a day? Etc.

I'm running on a dedicated box with 2GB RAM and the amount of players is ~5, and the server still manages to chomp up 1.5GB.. Other then that, it's managed to run quite stable in the past day, actually.

I have 12 GB of RAM but when i have 40 players on I only get to maybe 3 GB of ram.... not a big deal the crash issue for me is CPU maximization.

Same here! I tear through CPU, it's really frustrating. I switched to a VPS that gives me priority on 4 cores and access to 4 more without priority.
