Voting end you mean? Probably soon enough, Tiy might inform us or something if he manages to find this thread. Clear winner is Underwater.

 

To be honest, I'm worried Tiy will be getting an answer to a different question from what he asked.

We're not saying "I want [X] more than [Y]."
We're actually saying "I am better at imagining [X] than I am at imagining [Y]."


But for the sake of the poll, ROBOTS.

Well, I imagine robots being in terms of usefulness, more useful whereas the underwater race will still be able to breath underwater.

 

Swimsuit/Spacesuit = water wont get into your lungs meaning you wont drown.

 

Robots would get rusty in water so that would be a huge disadvantage.

Imagine you really wanting to not drown in water, imagine what the water race would feel like if they tried to get on ground.

 

Spacesuit on robot = not getting rusty. Yeah I talk about Spacesuit too much, it seems a lil overpowered if it would have that so...
Oh and shit son... or the aqua race could have a little tank of water on their head, much like terraria.

 

Something i was just about to propose. Of course, it would be neat if it would look more like a helmet of some sort. I wont imagine an aquatic race jumping very high (if they can jump at all on land) not only because their background, but the (super?)heavy suits filled with water.

 

You can't say that, there may be people who made their opinion through other means. Also the devs may all really like robots, and everyone knows that just on of their votes is worth 10 regular votes.

Also, I know a place where robots outnumber aquatics 4 to 1.

 

If robots are implemented, I demand that an EMP generating device be added, to render them all useless!

As race I do prefere robots,as building I prefere underwater...

Hmm... just a thought... This game is about discovering new worlds and civilizations, right?

If we were to discover life on another planet that was biological, and not robotic, that would be mindblowing, we would all want to know more about them right?

But if we were to discover robots sent by an intelligent alien lifeform, which would we really be curious about? Their programming, or who sent them?

I would be interested in the circuitry, programming etc. because let's face it, we could learn a lot by doing so, but aside from that it would be the alien life involved that would interest me.

Bearing this in mind, I would rather the aquatic race, rather than a robotic one.

 

Robots technically kind of are suited to the theme the devs want to make and it fits in more. Sci-fi, first thought in mind is usually space and robots.

With robots you can initiate nuke attacks without going to the space station... right.

 

Most robots, even in this day and age, are designed with a water resistance in mind during the blueprint stage. (Rust resistance, certain pressure resistance.) The water might actually be beneficial as a potential coolant. Just sayin'.

Funny thing: Chucklefish doesn't want races to have starting racial bonuses or advantages. Yet, the 2 race options we are now given are between an underwater race and a robot race...

In all logic, both races would necessarily have the advantage of not needing to breath underwater. Really wonder how Chucklefish will work that out. >.>
