Selecting a default colour for your character? Changes colour of MM, vehicles, morphballs

(please tell me if this is in the wrong category I always get confused by them)
So what if we could choose a colour for our character, either on creation or just in game? This colour wouldn't be used to edit the appearance of your character directly, but could influence the colour of certain techs/items that your character uses. I think this would help a bit with differentiating who is in which morphball (and I heard they're more useful soon so this might eventually be a problem). The colours could also change small things like the matter manipulator or vehicles bought from the Outpost. This would make the need for different colour hoverbike controllers a bit pointless, but I don't see why a red hoverbike has to be so much more expensive than a yellow one to be honest.

 

This is a great idea, I like it.

 

there should be a mod for race specific MM colors.
