Secret Matter Manipulator Upgrade Hidden in game files?

    So, i know the Devs said they want the MM (Matter Manipulator) to be upgrade able, and i found something.

    So on day one while Starbound was installing, i looked in the already downloaded game files and found something odd, there located at "Starbound\assets\humanoid\any" And there is what looks to be 3 versions of the MM!

    Maybe this confirms what the Devs said about the upgraded MM they wanted at i49, but still, they could have accidentally left the files in after scrapping the idea. Either way the other versions look less, polished, so they look like things they have yet to work on much, so dont expect anything soon!

    Also theres hidden cat pictures in there...

    But back to the MM, the pictures there are,

    gravgun1.png

    gravgun3.png

    gravgunicon.png

    gravgunlarge.png

    gravguntest1.png

    Capture.PNG

    Capture2.PNG

    Capture3.PNG

    Capture4.PNG

    Capture5.PNG

    Btw, "gravgun" is the word they use in the Code for the MM, thats why each image is nammed "gravgun#" not "mattermanipulator" probably because either "mattermanipulator.png" is to long for the Devs lol, or they made a "Gravity Gun" early in development, then changed it to the MM, and never changed the code, or lastly they might just wanted to do it that way.

    There called "gravgun#.png" and number 1 is the file for the MM we all know of, but the others... never seen them.

    Theres a "gravguntest#.png" too, its white and looks odd.

    So, what do you guys think they are? theres 1 Test gravity gun, and the others are just "gravgun#"

    I decided to say this now since no one else has as far as i know, but i saw it on day one of release.[/spoiler]

    hey man, not trying to be a dick or anything, but your title is kinda messed up. i mean, you said yourself that you know the devs said they want the MM to be upgradeable, so what part of the files are secret if they told people they wanted to?
    anyway, that being said, i would like to see an upgraded MM. maybe one that mines faster, sure, but also i would want it to have a bigger radius. like, instead of 4x4 i can place blocks 5x5 or something like that. basically, make bigger walls with the higher up ones. and then when i need more precision, but not down to 1 block at a time, i can switch to a lower one and drop 4x4 again for a smaller wall. just a thought, it could be useful for people who really like to build things, a better manipulator that lets them place more at a time, and in different sizes/shapes would be nice.

    Well that was said in teh i49 Thing, witch was a while ago, and they have said nothing since, but i found some files showing it might be confirmed.

    But the title is

    "SECRET MATTER MANIPULATOR UPGRADE HIDDEN IN GAME FILES?"

    Saying that i found clues to maybe confirm a Upgraded MM, Maybe you posted that before i changed it?

    And yeah, a better MM would be great for building and such!

    yea i was thinking of all the different ways i could use 7 different MM's that could place blocks in different ways. make some huge complex with different sized walls, or something artistic without having to resort to 1 block at a time.

    The gravgun is the tile they use for the Matter Manipulator. If you look at the code for the MM, you will see:
    Code:
    "shortdescription" : "Matter Manipulator",
      "largeImage" : "gravgunlarge.png",
    This is what I thought the first time, I was looking at the tools.
    Hope this clears some stuff up.
