Since Novakids hold deep on wild western concepts, down to craftable weapons being revolvers and lever rifles... Perhaps revolvers could "unload" some rounds faster in a burst, like 6 rounds in a row. Although there's the problem on how to get this type of thing to work tho, revolvers being 1 handed weapons that is...
A secondary fire wouldn't work for one-handed weapons under the current system, since it works by right-clicking. Also, what should the secondary fire for a revolver be? Unloading it in a burst would just be clicking multiple times in a row.
Well, that could work too, hammering the button as fast as possible, allow players to shoot x (usually 6, more or less) amount of shots in quick succession, then the cooldown would hit, preventing the "unload" for few seconds to match some form of revolver magazine size. hold mouse button down: shoots normally tap mouse once: shoots normally (as long as you don't tap it fast enough in succession) tap mouse button many times quickly: unloads x number of shots (bar above the player character decreases with each shot, and regenerates quite quickly when not used) as for medias: Think of Red Dead Redemption (whats the focus mode which pretty much allows you to target and when enough shots are marked, the character then unloads his weapon as fast as possible on the marks), Darkwatch (the advanced revolver would fire faster, with the character fanning the hammer, when you hold the trigger button long enough), and some other wild western medias having that quick unloading of gun onto the target. But with no target lock and being same as shooting gun in starbound
I came in here expecting pistol-whipping. Burst fire could be cool. Maybe the revolver could be a special gun that lets you fire as fast as you like by clicking rapidly, but uses more energy per shot if you fire really fast, and has a mandatory delay every 6 shots.
