Stardew Valley: Infidelity Mod There is alot of people in many different mod requests looking for a multi-marriage mod. I find this lame and honestly not immersive. I believe that if you are the ultimate lover, you will be able to keep the men or women (or both) wrapped around your finger even if you got married. The infidelity mod is currently in the works and is in alpha stages. I will admit that I know little to nothing about modding SDV, however progress has been made and if I had help it will go even better. Here is my project progress: Lust Mode ~ this will activate after you reach heart level 10 in which depending on the version you want, the person will begin to desire you, regardless of your marital status. Adult and SFW versions ~ This will be implemented in order to appease everyone. Safe for Work will use more romantic talk and nothing derogatory within. Personality will dictate hearts~ If the woman you desire is timid and self-conscious you have to do some convincing. Secret Places ~ New events will be made to run off to secretly meet your lovers, these will be added to the schedules of the NPCs so you have your chance. Non-Candidate NPCs~ since marriage isn't an issue it's my goal to implement others (Caroline and Jodi for instance) These are just some things I am trying to include. No they won't live with you, it gives you the ability to go off and be a bad girl/boy a while. I have started the modding of course, but I am lacking alot of skill and knowledge. I am hoping to get some help in that. Here is my project progress and plans. New dialogue and Mail~ All of it is accessible after level 10. I have gotten Abigail and Penny set already. Schedules~ I need to make it to where the people go to a secret place. Here is the list: Abigail - Mines @200 Haley - Her house(darkroom) @ 19:00 Penny - Bath house @ 21:00 Leah - Her house(no problem here) Sam - i don't know yet Maru - Add her going to doctor's office for late night work. Alex - i don't know yet Elliot - his house Sebastion - not sure Caroline - her room, not to be done on excersize days Jodi - her house on mornings Kent isn't around. Marnie - her house after everyone leaves Harvey - i don't know yet 3. Events~ This will be how you do the deed. I have no experience with it and it's going to take time to figure out 4. I need to find the function that tells SDV if you're married and to whom.. this will make it to where you can't got cheat on your spouse.. with your spouse, disabling his/her secret place events. Any help from the experienced modders would be greatly appreciated.
I dunno about anyone else, but I'm still getting lovin from EVERYONE after getting married. Mind you, this was a mistake on my part. I simply wanted max hearts for everyone. But I got married and THEN the bathhouse opened up. Thanks to this, even though I was married, BOTH the Penny bath scene and Harvey balloon scene still happened. And my game still says boyfriend/girlfriend next to everyone candidate. And every single one of them still tries to seduce me. What can I say? Everyone wants me. And tbh I wish I could take that out. I feel so horrible, like I'm cheating. T_T
I find it admirable that you want to make such an unusual mod that adds relationship possibilities outside of the marriage. I mean, if it can happen in meatspace, then why not SDV? I mean I definitely enjoy that in the "Persona" game series you have more than one girlfriend and under the assumption they dont know other girls exist/don't care. That's dope, but I do not like this rheotric to describe this --it makes the player/farmer sound like a constantly horny, socioopathic manipulator of feelings and thats not what being the "ultimate lover" by any definition of the phrase. This instread usually bring out negatively-charged titles like: fuckboi, hussy, cheater, etc. Not an ultimate [usually adjective is associated w/ good or the only choice] lover. The ultimate lover doesn't commit infedelity behind your back. They are honest and if the partner is OK with it, then cool beans. Don't get me wrong, again dope idea and progress. But the mod name should be something else. OR If there is unwarrented infedelity happen then there should be a massive consequence for being caught. And it should be difficult to avoid that in a small town. Maybe stats of how many days you were able to hold so many affairs.
you read my mind on alot of it. I been sketching on implementing reward/punishment already. SFW Mode prevents Lust mode as well.. I know that not everyone wants to go all that far. I am using the character's personality as a base on how they will work as both spouse or lover. For instance, Abigail seems to get jelly rather easily, it would be harsher if she will catch you. However, one step at a time. As stated, I am not good at this yet and I will try to get it working in it's basic form and expand aggressively. That being said.. THANK YOU! I been working on this since friday and I was hoping NexusMods forum would at least give me some feedback but to no avail. These comments will help me push this ambitious mod in a proper direction.
No worries, if you need some sort of help with some sexy writing or testing or whatever, I can help you with that forsure. But honestly, I was just being pedantic with wording. The fact you planned it out so well so far is tell tale sign you're onto something though! EDIT: also I've never tried talking to people on nexus about mod stuff, but I think coming here would be your best bet as the people who do know how to code loom around this places as much as those who don't know what they're doing (like me) ahahah
Your married status is held in the (Farmer()).Spouse string, as the name of your spouse, it is `null` when you are unmarried, and has `engaged` as a suffix when you are engaged to be married. Atm, the easiest way to access it is using `Game1.player.Spouse`, since MP hasnt been added yet and you dont yet need to worry about multiple players
The sexy writing thing sounds good I might have to make 3 versions of this mod. If this thread is active enough i think we should all try to assemble the personalities of all characters and how this would work with them.. immersion is always paramount. Thanks for telling me where to find it.. now I need to learn how to use it.
Ah, Stardew Valley soap opera! Sounds fun and juicy. Drama spices things up a bit, I'll be curious to see how this works out. I talked it over with my only actual partner in this. We decided to use their personalities as a way to decide if you get punished or not, depending on the level of mod you use. Again with abigail being jealous, she would likley make your life hell.. now i seriously don't know what to do aside from heart level loss, But we figured different spouses will have different reactions. That being said, I need to find a way to also make it invisible to your spouse as well.. A hiding function. You can give a gift to someone all alone, yet they still know about it.. gotta find out how to turn that off at will.

Just have her change the wallpaper and flooring every-single-goddam-day as punishment. I think that would straighten out these cheetahs.
Uh, multi-marriage and being "ultimate lover" are two different concepts. Polyamorous is not just sleeping around, it's much more.
I know what polyamourous is =/ the mod says "infidelity" The rest is flavor text to wat this mod could be.
The fact that you cleared it up makes me support the advancement of it. To be honest I hate drama, but LOVE it because I watch so much reality tv. Obviously never should anyone condone infidelity as an option in real life, but in a fictional game, why not. If it adds mechanics, why not? that's pretty cool. Creative freedoms should be allowed, regardless of how off-colored someone thinks it is, if someone wants to skirt between what's legal and morally just and what's just kinda scummy and low-brow... by all means, if the energy is there put something together. I can see @MissCoriel perspective, this game isn't supposed to teach about those type of relationships, and if she and her partner wants to that's cool too because it's always nice to hear different perspectives on how relationships work outside of the exclusive monogamous pair, but that shouldn't be an expectation of the creators of the mod to do that. Especially when it's been established that this is about the player/farmer facing repercussions of being two-faced by participating in uncommunicated extra-martial affairs. I think there should be a possibility of getting a child to come out of your actions should be a repercussion. If keyton made it possible to have dogs and cats by just adding the code on there, i'm sure even if you have two kids, by adding the baby/toddler_dark if you don't have it, maybe there's a possibility it will spawn ? (i want two more pets that way if so hahaah)
I like that take.. and I actually pondered that as well. A child born out of wedlock would cause strain you yourself your wife and your lover. I seen it in my days of the ARMY. This is going way deeper than I thought.. I think i need to write a story on it just to mod it right.
Have you thought about doing a mod where you might have to accuse or catch your spouse of cheating as well? Eek, super drama and kinda heart-churning stuff, but you know, infidelity could be a two way street. Another idea is have your spouse like spend a bunch of money on stuff or gamble at the casino --put a tax on whatever you ship as alimony or childsupport payments
I don't know if I can do that yet.. I need to find out if i can even get the character's secret places to work.
Fyi.. I am still working hard on it. I recently got a job so my time to work on it has greatly reduced. I am still creating personality profiles based on their base set up and the new dialogue is going well
I enjoy the idea of lust mode but can your clarify if i've made everyone at full hearts because i'm OCD like that including dwarves, hobos, and children will my farmer girl have to start carrying pepper spray for the aformentioned hobos and dwarves and other people she just wants to have at the peak of their continued loyalty to her? If every adult has ten hearts automatically becomes lusty for you that's only going to work for my Tomie Kawakami character. [well except there isn't a mod where one of my obsessors murders me in a jealous rage but still.]
