You can craft a pipe attached to a machine at the surface which will pump air down into your mask (However you have the risk of the machine overheating and being left underwater with only an hour of air left) 2.Can provide protection from the creatures that lurk underwater with you.... 3.A neat set of meters show on your screen (probably depth and airtime left) 4.You Can surface much faster then normally Cons - 1.Adds extra weight to your body, makes you tired and more hungry faster 2.meters may break under pressure and you wont know how deep you are or how much air you have left 3.Although Suit Provides protection from creatures, players are able to easily puncture your suit with a high-powered rifle or shotgun (this leads to the idea of a underwater like gun) ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Types - Light Diving Gear - The Weakest Diving Gear airtime: less then an hour armor: few if any weight:not enough to tire player UNDER water Standard Diving Gear A normal set of Diving Gear airtime: an hour (can also hook up to air pipe) armor: can withstand small creatures and low powered sidearms weight: player is definitely affected by gear Astounding Diving Gear A great set of diving gear airtime: up to 3 hours (can hook up to air pipe) armor: injures small creatures if they bite and can withstand close range shots from a sidearm weight: player is affected by weight and begins to tire Carbon Plated Diving Gear (Name can be changed if theres no carbon) A weightless, yet powerful set of Diving Gear airtime: up to 4 hours (can hook up to air pipe) armor: can withstand large creatures and low powered rifle rounds weight: little Smart Matter Diving Gear Most Expensive, Resourceful Diving Gear airtime: Filters water into breathable air (can hook up to air pipe though if you want to save power) armor: can withstand most creatures and armor can withstand all except close range shots fired from high powered rifles or shotguns weight: Very Heavy, player moves slower than normally -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Thank You For Reading If You Were Wondering -You CAN mix different types of diving gear example: My player could have a Carbon plated mask on and the rest could be standard -Pumping air down air pipe DOES require power (although not very much) -Air Pump can be placed on boat (Not sure if there's even gonna be boats but hey, if there's faster then light spaceships there must be other vehicles) Thank You And Please Do Reply And Like! You should probably keep in mind that Hylotl armor lets the player swim better and hold their breath longer, but that shouldn't affect your idea too much for the other races (since they won't get access to Hylotl armor until later in the game). Anyway, I quite like the idea. Especially how you can use energy to pump air down, which is an interesting idea.
I'm crossing my fingers that Hylotl simply have the ability to breath underwater. Like Argonians from Skyrim.
