ALRIGHT! First of all, Expect no pictures from me. Second, no, these scouters are not like the DB scouters thatcould measure up to OVER NINE THOUSAND P.L. Third, Kamikaze gear is fun, that's why I'm giving the suggestions. As far as I know, there are no Kamikaze/scouters in the game. **SCOUTERS** ~What is this 'scouter' you speak of?~ A scouter is something used to identify objects, monsters and planets. For example, if you were caving and you saw a monster you've never seen in your life, put on the scouter and it would identify the monster if you hover above it and (Preferably middle-click to avoid accidental use of items). ~How it works~ It would display in such a manner, it's really easy to read. Type: ---Name: ---HP: #/#Damage: x - xThings to Note: Bla Bla Bla Now you might be thinking, "LOL THIS IS SO OP! I WOULD WANT ONE OF THESE IF THEY WERE IMPLEMENTED."Well think wrong, the key things of the scouters are the HP, Damage, and TTN's. Here's the nerfer, to get the things to show up, you need to collect the data first. E.g: Damage it to get it's hp, you don't necessarily need to get damaged by it to get it's damage, just get close to one it's attacks. The TTN slot is to be filled by the player just because the player might not understand what it says there. ~Multiplayer Logic~ The scouters work Colour > Data based. So for example, the admin makes a Red Scouter and fills in every single mob, planet, object in the game, and someone joins and makes a Red and Blue scouter, only to see the Red's data history is full, while the Blue's data is empty and fresh. This opens up the ability for each player to have their own experience of filling their scouters up, and the ability of sharing information easily. **Kamikaze Gear/KG** ~How Does It Work~ You put it on, and click(also preferably the scroll-wheel click) and it explodes, the explosion is determined on how many bombs/explosives(If there are anyways, I have not known about.) in your inventory. The Kamikaze gear would be very easily made, and would basically be a mining tool, except you would have to die everytime. ultiplayer Logic~ This of course would damage other players. In a group, you could get someone to get KG and a whole ton of explosives and just wipe out the whole enemy base. ~Other Things to Note~ The KG is an item, not a type of clothing/armor. It would be very heavy(If there is weight implemented into the game). The explosion would be a ratio of +2 blocks of radius/5 bombs. 1 bomb would create a 6 x 6 wide explosion around the player. Without a bomb, the KG would neither explode or cause any damage.
DARN IT. WHY DID I CLICK ENTER WHILE SETTING UP THE VOTE POLL? There's supposed to be a "Kamika-BOOOOOOOOOOOM. YEEEEAAAAAAAAH EAT THAT PLANET. ( +KG)" vote, but meh. Can one the devs somehow add that in?
From what I gather, the "Scouter" function already exists, and is a basic feature of your logbook. According the About Page, just about everything can be clicked to bring up detailed data and description on it. I am not fond of kamikaze gear, personally.
The logbook takes up a humungous portion of your screen. The scouter would be compact, easier to make but less accurate. And KG is fun, becau-BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOM.
Self-destruct tactics are somethinge for games like Dino D-Day, not for games like Starbound. In fact, there should be an achievement for getting to a certain point in the story without dying once. Scouters are fine, because every game should have scouters. They are too awesome not to have them in any game, even if it doesn't fit the setting. Assassins Creed? Bettter with scouters. War of the roses? Day of Defeat? Counter Strike? Guild Wars 2? Minecraft? Simcity? Lemmings? Starcraft? Minesweeper? Chessmaster? Yeah. All better with scouters. It doesn't have to make sense, it just have to have scouters.
I don't really like the suicide part, I mean maybe if it was a robot you sent out... but not and actual person, apex, ect.
The suicide gear seems like a really bad idea, I cannot possibly fathom why anybody would want to blow themselves up just for the purpose of mining.
I, for one, like the Kamikaze gear. You could play a Creeper-type character. Or someone with comical anger issues. Or sacrifice yourself to save your teammates!
Umm... I don';t think they'd EVER put in Kamikaze gear... Its kind of... Offensive... to NUMEROUS groups. I mean Horribly offensive.
