It's still rather vague in my head but I want to post that idea may you can help to clarify it SO the idea is : How about implement telescope (Small/big) wich can allow you to see planets near to you and also far away. You can also guess some specifications of the planete like: -the composition of its atmoshere -the presence of water -the presence of intelligent life That could be a tech or a item (or both...) Well that's all for today ,I hope you have understood a bit of my ramblings ^^

your ship seems to be able to do this already. you put in some coords and you get the star system and so on where you can check what's up with the planet...though this seems to be able to do it from a home-base on a planet? right?
Yes knew it already and your right ,but for the RP if you wonder if there is flower on alpha 1-b it's more realistic to check by a scope unstead to do a long travel don't you agree?
