RELEASED SBSE - Customize your player colors using any color!

There was some down time this morning due to Hyun's Dojo itself having a problem. They should both be fixed now.

 

Sorry to bother you, but I get an error when I attempt to upload my player file...

An error message pops up that says: player is not an allowed file extension.

(What does this mean and how can I fix it? Thank you!)

I'm installing OS X right now so I can build the SBSE desktop app on there and test it out. Once it's installed I'll look into the problem you're having. Right now I can't test myself, but the message you're getting doesn't make sense to me because PLAYER is the only format I've allowed, so for some reason it's not recognizing what you've uploaded as a player file.

i tried firefox, and it crashes whenever i use SBSE with firefox, help?

 

Best I can say right now is sit tight guys. Compatibility problems is one of the biggest reasons why I'm moving SBSE to the desktop. I'm fairly confident once the desktop version is out many of these problems will simply go away. I'm a few days away from the first test build for Windows users, so keep an eye out if you want to get it sooner. Just remember that any testing builds released are bound to have problems. If you'd rather wait, the main website will update with the first official desktop release when it's ready.

SBSE's web version has been updated with the latest assets from Enraged Koala. I have had reports that some people think SBSE is corrupting their save files. If you believe SBSE has corrupted your saves or game in any way, please note:

- SBSE does not touch anything other than your player save file, and only works within the parameters the game allows. It is incredibly unlikely that a save file SBSE has touched would affect anything other than that specific save file.
- SBSE writes save files the same way the game does. If your save was read fine by Starbound before the latest update, chances are it should read fine after the update. This is unless Chucklefish made some unannounced changes to the save file again, but this doesn't appear to be the case.
- I have updated completely fine. All of my characters read and open properly in Starbound and every single one of them has been modified by SBSE.

Most likely there are some other factors unrelated to SBSE at play here that could be causing problems. Third party mods or a botched updated may be the culprit. Regardless, if you still believe SBSE was the reason for your player's demise, please send me the corrupted files so that I may examine them and look at what's going on internally. As of writing this I have nothing to check against, so I can only believe SBSE isn't at fault.

Phaze, could you do a body stance change? It could be really usefull for me.

 

Will you add the option to change more than one color palette? It'd be useful to be able to change all the color palettes on armors and such.

 

That's what advanced mode is for, you find the code for the colour you want to change, then you set the replacer colour

 

Mind elaborating on this? Like, an example?

1) Click add new on the item you want to change the colours of; in this case I am editing my glitch character's chest piece.
2) Find the hexadecimal code for the colour you want to edit, then click the box on the left that you created in the last step (it should be black until you put the code in)
3) Put the code into the box on the bar on the bottom (in this case it has the text "#a47844" in it)
4) Click the box to the right of the last one you opened, and choose what colour you want to replace the last.
5) You're done! Repeat steps 1 through 5 for every color you want to edit.

Ahh. Like that. I never really got the hexadecimal codes down, but I could figure that out.

 

Some armors dont work I want to modify my power armor yet it only detects the Heavy power armor legs.

 

Can you add drawing on your character? Cuz I would like to edit my appearance entirly.

 

Well heavy power armor legs work but not Heavy power armor Chest or helmet? Can you fix this please?

When I dragged my Player file into the SBSE circle area, it says ''Player is not an allowed file extension.'' What?! Please help me! Thanks! ^^
