    So SBSE is probably not coming back seeing how its creator doesn't reply to anything posted here and also with the website down. So I would like to ask if anyone could share me the installer for this thing instead of telling me to look for alternatives that make your life much harder.

    There is no new link (that I'm aware of).
    Phaze (the creator) has mentioned in past posts that he's having trouble getting free time for this. He may come back, he may not. This isn't his first absence.

    On the subject of the installer, I really wouldn't recommend giving it out without permission from Phaze. Only problem with that is contacting him, though...

    I don't think the program would really help you. The latest version of SBSE does not work with the current update.

    I pmed the Op asking him if he was intending to continue SBSE, and requested the source code if he wasn't. But he hasn't been active since October 5, so Sbse is kil. Maybe. ;-;

    Maybe we should just let him relax for the holidays and ask him when it's over.

    The dyeing system is now implemented but one thing i suggest is customizing weapon colours. Because then you could completely customize a sword/gun or something. The dyeing system is not as good as this thing because as it says it lets you change colours outside of the normal colour range!
    So i could turn my sword into my dream one which i have coloured in Paint: My_dream_sword.png !
    Post note: If you try to change some colour options on some armour it instantly sets it to a mesa plateau-ish orange.

    Urk. Hey everyone happy new year! Let me start by apologizing for my absence. The truth is I've moved away from playing Starbound and most games since I have very limited free time which I need to spend with my family (the whole work/life balance thing as I'm sure some of you know). I now work for a small studio full time developing websites and games which eats up pretty much any spare time I get, especially during the last month or so where I just have not had time to sort out SBSE's fate due to the Christmas crunch time to get our latest game ready. For those wondering, my gracious host for SBSE since the beginning (some of you may know him, he's the talented animator that made Stick Figure Spotlight for Riot Games) updated his server in a pinch to accommodate a boost in traffic to his site which was causing the old server to crash a lot. During the update the part that hosts SBSE was removed temporarily to avoid putting more strain on the server since the point of the upgrade was to get things running smoothly for his site again. I should have communicated this immediately and sought an alternative location faster, but as previously mentioned my focus has been 110% on the project I am working on at my job, and SBSE slipped through the cracks.

    I have been granted a break for the holidays from the mighty time gods, so I aim to get SBSE's future sorted out within the next week or so. To be frank I don't want to continue work on this project, simply and only because I don't think I'm the right person to keep it under my thumb anymore. The last year has proven that I am not able to update or even maintain this project in addition to all the other life stuff I have to deal with, which just isn't fair to the people that have grown to depend on it. I still derive great pleasure from tinkering with Starbound's mechanics, and if I had the time I would be all over it again, but then I'd just run into the same problem again where I have to neglect this thing in order to focus on the things that support my family and myself.

    So the question now is what is to become of SBSE? Last time I update it I mentioned I was in talks to hand the project off to someone else who could provide updates and server support. Those plans fell through for the most part, but I have reached out to the third party again to gauge interest in taking it over once more. If that doesn't happen I am going to either look for someone else or simply open source the project and hope that another intrepid programmer will use it to build a new SBSE or other tool. I'm not going to lie, when I built SBSE I didn't really know much about application structuring or best practices, so the actual source is a hamfisted mess of amateur programming. I don't know if it will be of any use to anyone aside from understanding the concepts that went in to SBSE. What it really needs is a complete rewrite to be faster and more stable, as well as better error handling or a more modular approach so that updates to SB don't render SBSE useless.

    So that's the latest on this project. I know it's not what some of you were hoping for, but it's the best I can offer for the time being. I will update in this thread as developments happen over the next few days to a week. Hope everyone is enjoying their holidays otherwise!

    Thank you very much. I hope you are too.

    Also thank you for shedding some light on the situation as well. I hope you're able to find some one to pass the project on to. Good luck! ❤

    I have officially begun transferring SBSE's domain (sbse.co) and the website/application source to @Kazyyk, the owner of Antares Roleplay. Him and his community have long since been big supporters of SBSE and I am happy to hand the project off to a group that is dedicated and passionate about SB roleplay and the character customization that makes roleplay feel more personal. Kazyyk will be the owner of this project from now on, and will be giving SBSE the support it needs to continue on. I must caution everyone who uses SBSE that I will no longer personally have control over the sbse.co domain, which is integrated directly into the SBSE client to look for updates and send bug reports. SBSE will never download or install anything without your permission first, but the domain can be used to send out updates that you will be alerted to when you launch SBSE. Please be aware that future updates to SBSE will not be made by me and I cannot guarantee their safety as I could previous releases. If this makes you uncomfortable I recommend you uninstall or firewall SBSE to prevent it from talking to the internet. I sincerely trust Kazyyk and I don't think anyone has anything to worry about, but for the sake of everyone's comfort and transparency I think it's important that everyone is aware of what this ownership transfer means, as I do not want to betray the trust I have garnered over the last 2 years.

    After this whole process is complete I think I will be fully stepping away from the community to continue my work. Thank you to everyone who's supported and used SBSE over the years, it was a fun project and I'm happy that so many people found it useful. At this moment we are transferring the domain and getting the website back up and running. This process could take a few hours to a few days, I will update here again once our plans are final.
