RELEASED SBSE - Customize your player colors using any color!

What the hell happened to the far better, less buggy in-browser SBSE? This one can't even tell what Perfect Armor is, and can't edit characters that are wearing or have worn said armor...

 

I know right?

 

Well I love using SBSE it really helps me make my chars look nice however once it moved to desktop ive been having issue after issue and have only really used it once the latest issue ive had stems from me not installing steam normally on my new computer or at least I think instead of downloading it I put it on a flashdrive and downloaded it to my desktop to save on the installation and update time however once I tried to use SBSE it told me "Unable to find binaries folder. Make sure the Starbound folder is correct" Having no idea what it wants from me ive tried directing it to steam steamapps common Starbound and every other folder inside of starbound it still tells me it cant find it . Now I have no idea what it wants and would love if somone could help me out.

 

I'm having this same problem. I thought I'd give SBSE a try, but it first stated that it couldn't find my player folder. So I pointed it to that. Now it says it can't find my "binaries folder" - there is no binaries folder, or at least whatever folder that holds binaries doesn't use that name. It would help - a lot - if SBSE would have better detection (Starcheat and other programs don't seem to have an issue finding my game files), or at least was more clear as to what location it wanted you to select for it.

My game is using Upbeat giraffe Update 2, Protocol 668, Stable.

 

I am having issues using SBSE with files that have not been modified with StarCheat (using most recent version of SBSE and Starbound).. something about a TypeError and the operation may not have been completed..

There was supposedly a release coming with a new version a few weeks back wasn't there? What's the status on an update?

Unable to edit player as well. What's going on :<

 

When editing developer sets (IE bans chest and legs) it makes your char not editable in SBSE. There is a few mods out there that add the dev sets back in and I would like to recolor them.

 

So I fixed my SBSE and to anyone this might help just ensure you have no mods installed if so take em out then take out ALL of your char files and put them in one at a time and see if its one file thats causing SBSE to mess up if so just delete them and remake them and if you cant do that just take them out while you use SBSE.

 

Can i change my "arm" colour for example or separate pixels on my character's body. I really want to know because i want to make a character of mine's arm silver. If you could, could you make a body "part" colour changer?

 

No, that's impossible to do. You can't change specific body part colors, as the sprites just...can't do that.

For the past year or so I've been using and enjoying this program but for some reason player files that have been edited with Starcheat [0.21] are not able to be edited in SBSE Desktop [0.9.4].
I wanted to recolour a chestpiece and some leg armour but since it didn't let me I decided to create a new player file and spawn in the armour through Narks' ILikeCheating mod:

Yet SBSE still wouldn't allow me to change the new character's armour.
Does Starcheat or ILikeCheating conflict with SBSE, and if so, how do I fix this problem?

Just got the update, and now I'm unable to edit around half of my characters, for some reason (just displays "unable to edit"). I don't know what's causing this..

 

Yep. Same problem. Only humans, florans and Novakids can be edited. Fix pls.

 

Is SBSE Ever going to be updated? I have been unable to edit any of my characters due to having edited them with Starcheat. It's been like 3 months since you updated and I am getting very impatient.

 

no matter what I do or how I try to access it, I cannot find a way to use SBSE. Every time it just says that the webpage is unavailable, even if I try to download the desktop version.

 

I kinda miss before you had to download it. That was nice.
