Save file corruption

I just had my 30+ hours endgame character glitched into what I can only describe as file corruption, for doing nothing. I was standing around talking to some people in a server, and suddenly my game crashed and exited at the same time, this has happened before so I just reloaded the game, however I was unable to log into the server I was on. I tried another server, I couldn't log in on that server either. I then tried to load into my single player world, the game crashed to windows. I am unable to play as my endgame character anywhere because of a crash that has been occurring since the release of the beta?

This needs to be fixed, however rare or unlikely it is to recreate or whether no one else has experienced this yet, it has to be fixed because sooner or later people are going to start getting mad that all their work has been branded null and void. Character wipes are likely to happen soon so I'm not that bothered, it's annoying that I can't use that character until then but oh well.

They did warn about characters getting deleted, they know about this already and it's probably on the to do list but I wouldn't say it's a major priority right now, they're mainly trying to get the game to work for xp and making it playable on lower end systems on top of that. Also I have a friend who this happened to so I'm guessing this isn't common but more of an uncommon bug.

tl;dr beta is beta.

 

If everyone simply had that attitude there would be no bugs to fix. The point of the beta is to highlight these bugs so that the developers can get rid of them before the game is released.

edit- And yes I know they said they were going to be doing character wipes potentially, however this was not a character wipe this was a bug in their game that has caused my character to become unplayable. Quite different.
