Alright.

 

Ok,now i uninstalled Retr0pack,and then i installed Chuck le fish mod
The same crash that happens with Retr0pack is repeting itself with Chuck le fish
Anyways to fix it?

 

Did you create a new character and universe, its required if you want to run it bug free.

Also ask help about that mod from the author. (Discussion section of that mod)

S3r1ous Mods currently doesn't include or support it, i can't really fix you errors anyway unless you provide logs.

 

I deleted all my characters before using Chuck le fish and S3r1ous modpack

So this mod pack won't be compatible with unstable right? there's a few features in the unstable patch I'd like to get into my server but I have a feeling just updating so soon would cause... Issues.

 

Probably not, i have only tested it on Stable.

Looks like you got your hands full with the pack, sorry to be a bother but I'm having issues with well... My monster sounds, they kinda all beep and run at me but none of the attacks make noise, then they bloop when they die. I normally try to run through error logs to find out what is causing it but... The game doesn't see it as an error and I'm stumped. I thought maybe Frackin' but I don't have any mods that mess with monsters except the MH raptors but that adds monsters not changing them. Was wondering if you may have an idea what's causing it? Also it may be a good note with people upset about the monster toughness, the world you start on without choke le fish is an unstable star with inconceivable threat level

 

Well theres 2 mods that add monster parts, perhaps something gets messed up there.

Frackin Universe is the only mod that modifies stars and biomes so i guess sometimes it also puts you on a dangerous planet...

 

Yeah I figured it may be an issue there, I'll try removing them and see if I can get the sounds back. It'd be nice if I could see exactly where it's getting the sound from when it plays it, is there a way to open the .modpacks to see the file structure as if I just DLed the mod itself so I don't have to DL them all to check them? I have semi-okay internet.

 

for example
asset_unpacker fracuniv.modpak fracuniv - will unpack fracuniv.modpak into fracuniv folder.

Use this in Command Prompt(cmd). Make sure .modpak file you are trying to unpack is in the same folder.


asset_unpacker.exe is the tool you can use.

 

Alright thanks, I'll dig through em, I have no clue what's causing it because starbound doesn't see it as an error. It's just that it breaks the immersion so badly

I'm having one minor issue with this modpack: since I got s3r1ous installed (this and nothing else, I must say, for it is quite complete as far as I am concerned), I can not craft wood platforms anymore. I started a new character and deleted my old universe, so that can't cause the problem. I did not yet progress far enough (building vertical tunnels without platforms is annoying) to know if I can craft other platforms, though I can craft the "modern platform" that costs pixels. Any idea which mod might cause this?

/edit: just one more thing:torches tend to flicker quite a lot, it almost feels like if there were police around the corner. I'd rather call it pulsing than flickering. Same question as above - any idea what might cause it?

Before any questions arise, I know what I forgot: I've got Win 8.1 x64, but I'm running Starbound 32 bit version. Anything else you need to know?

 

What are you using to craft the platforms, just a crafting menu or BlockTable?
If its the Blocktable, you could report it as bug there - http://community.playstarbound.com/resources/blocktable-plus-compatibility.2791/
If its just regular crafting menu or Table i assume its conflict with some mod that modifies it. It could be Frackin' Universe, in that case just wait for an update. sayter is always working on new fixes and improvements. It could be some other mod too. Hmm...

Flicker is from Shadow-Casting Lights mod, you should ask the author to change it, not a bug but a feature! LOL

Well that's fascinating, in the Blocktable, it does work. Guess I'll just wait for an update then, and carry around a lot of pre-crafted platforms

Ah, that is one of the so-called features. Well it is, in fact, quite useful as it flashes through some layers of wall, showing what is behind... but it is annoying to some extent. Maybe I'll get used to it, if not, I'll ask if it can be changed. Thanks for the directions, anyways.

looks like this an issue with woodenplatform and platform being a diffent thing a small oversight on my part will fix soon

when you say you want "woodenplatform" you actually want "platform"

 

So I'm playing through this modpack from scratch with a brand new character, and one of the problems I have had is that it started me out on an Epsilon class planet. Fair enough, it's meant to be a challenge, so I've been cheesing it with battles (and once I found a few weapons it got a lot easier). I dug down to the core and got my core fragments, but on an Epsilon class planet there is literally no iron anywhere at any depth. As such, I cannot get enough iron to get the tools I need to make to progress the game, and I therefore cannot get the steel armor needed for the Erchius quest and cannot then get Erchius crystals with which to repair my FTL drive and get out of the Epsilon sector or move to another planet. I can't even find enough ore to make ARMOR, so I'm running around buck naked with a shotgun and a sword and being one-shot by mobs.

Is this mod pack not intended for new avatars? Like am I supposed to have gotten all the gear I need and then installed the mod? Or is there a way to repair the FTL without Erchius crystals? Or is there a way to get/craft Erchius crystals for new players?

I have like...infinity of diamonds, aegisalt, violium, solarium, and uranium, but I've found a grand total of 2 titanium ore in HOURS of digging, and about 5 copper ore. Theoretically I could mine the entire planet using nothing but my matter manipulator, but that is absurd. Any suggestions from mod's creator or anyone in the community who is more experienced with this modpack?
