Well that's strange. I just tested the nightly build that was uploaded this morning and I can access S.A.I.L. just fine. You might just need to empty out your player and universe folder and make a new character. That always works for me.

If you're still having problems after that, delete your starbound.config file as well. The game will create a new one automatically when you launch it.

Its because they updated and added a of extra quests and functions to SAIL. As for example, you can now fix the FTL drive through quests. So you would need to start a new character for it to work.

Ah dang. Ok so If I wanted to play without worry of losing all my progress but have the most content available for that.. would the unstable one be okay or must I have to be stable. When was the last time either of those have been updated just curious.

i had this issue too, but fixed it.
it was a problem with vanilla techs i unlocked with my mod - had to remove them for now.
custom techs updated for nightly work fine though.

Nightly builds can be quite buggy at times, you may need to wipe your universe and/or player folder every few days (or every day) to get things to work right. If you just want to play the game and not worry about this, you'll want to switch to the Stable branch (in Steam, same way you switched to Nightly branch). As of right now, I believe that the Unstable branch is at the same version of the game as the Stable branch, so you won't see a difference (this will change when a patch comes out, it goes to Unstable for testing before being released to Stable).

Were you able to get the game to run successfully?

Okay I will switch over to stable branch only because losing my progress every day to couple of days isn't much fun cause I can't get to test out the later stages. I just hope the content isn't so terribly less compared to nightly. How often is stable updated or at least last time it was updated?

It's been a few months since Stable was updated, there's a patch in the works that will get pushed to Stable once a few more things have been completed in the Nightly builds (see http://blog.chucklefish.org/?p=91 for more info).

When you switch, be sure to delete your player folder, universe folder, mods folder, and starbound.config so the Stable version won't get hung up on the newer formats and crash.

Closing since it seems that you're planning on simply switching back to Stable. If you decide to stick with Nightly builds, you can view the stickied post at the top of the Nightly Support forum to find fixes for common issues.
