Rydian's Starbound Trainer (Invincibility, Infinite Items, etc.)

I didn't see the pre-release streams (I really don't care for things that don't exist, so I didn't pay much attention to Starbound other than buying a pre-release until it was actually public), was it ever shown how they invoked the summon? Like pulling up an in-game console or something.

 

At 2:20, he's using a command /spawnitem. I just connected to my own server and tried it. The command has been removed since then.

 

Looks like the error messages for that command (and others) still exist in the client, at least.

The fact that it has handling for syntax errors and permissions indicates we might see it implemented later, perhaps in updated server software?


At least I made it admit the command was sexy.

No promises, btw, sort of doubt I'll be able to get this enabled by myself, if it still exists.

 

It actually doesn't. I read in a different thread they searched the files where it's supposed to be, and that the specifics of the command actually just don't exist anymore.

Only way to be able to make this work is to make a custom command yourself until they add it back in, it seems.

 

Huh well that was fast. I really only use trainers to screw around so I'll be using a fresh character when I use this.

Pfffft, hah. I've updated my Terraria trainer so many times that sometimes I just put that as the title without thinking about it. I usually catch myself and fix it for this one, but it seems in the latest update I didn't.

This is interesting. I'm sure it could be fun to mess around with or get back stuff that you lost in wipes (etc). I don't get hung up on the morality of everything, that is for each person to decide on their own. I would like to try it but none of the commands with light up for me. I'm using the OpenGL versions of each. Any advice?

 

You may have a crashed Starbound in the background that it's trying to modify, sometimes when Starbound appears to crash it stays in the background and needs to be killed with the task manager. Failing that, your antivirus could be silently blocking the trainer from working (some, like Norton/McAfee, are well-known for blocking/deleting things and not telling the users what they did).

Well, this could actually be quite useful for extensive speedrun/testing of various things. Otherwise, I don't get why people would even make this sort of thing for a game like this especially. What's the point when you're invincible?

Then don't download anything, and mod your player files, instead of posting on a thread that has nothing to do with your request.

Exploring map generation, terraforming planets without getting interrupted, seeing how the balance does or does not scale if you jump way beyond the planet level you're supposed to be at, or simply ignoring hunger for the impatient people that want to play, but don't want to cook and/or hunt a lot?

It attempts to reset your HP to whatever it's at when the code is enabled. So if you have 130/170 HP, then it'll keep resetting it to 130, so if you get hit for 70 damage, a split-second later you're back at 130. So it's almost invincibility, you're just still vulnerable to something that deals more damage than you have HP.

Next version I'll try to remember to have it lock but allow increases (so your HP can go up still, like if you equip better armor that gives more max HP). Unfortunately my attempts to give the player 9999 max HP also gave the monsters 9999 max HP. :\

Well that's a little unsettling that it recognizes what it is, but blocks it anyways.

 

Updated with that tweak to Freeze HP and the title bar fix.

What the hell are you people doing that CTRL+SHIFT+# at the same time is used for?
I could change it to CTRL+F#, but then I'd only be able to have 12 codes before running into other things.

 

if other people donest have problems with it, i just want to know, i can change the keybind?
