Rydian's Starbound Trainer (Invincibility, Infinite Items, etc.)

There seems to be a bug with Starbound right now where it freezes or crashes any time a program causes the screen to dim for a UAC prompt. Go into the UAC settings (type UAC into the start menu's bar) and just lower the slider a single tick. This won't make anything less secure, it'll just stop the screen dimming.

And yes, that is a dumb way to do something that should just be a checkbox, not sure why Microsoft decided to do it like that.

The screen dimming is the OS switching to secure desktop mode to ensure that malware applications cannot interface with the UAC dialog and press "Ok" for you in order to bypass the security it offers.

Not that many programs actually do this because of how many users stick to defaults. Stick to trusted software (or change the setting back and forth when you run the trainer) and you should be fine, regardless.

Just leave it open on starbound, and it should eventually unfreeze. Otherwise, Just make sure you start up Starbound first, let it load, and then open up Starbound Trainer. Make sure it's in administrator mode, and everything should work out with patience.

Aside from that, if there's another problem, then just say so

interesting, so the godmode requires you to take a hit before it works? xD

Not really when you're blast mining.

IF you need to go to a high level world just use a grenade, buzzsaw/tesla coil and you will self-mercy without dying, then engage the high levels without worries. <3

Tested, works wonderfully. You get a giant green +1

EDIT: Now the trainer seems to freeze and crash every time I launch it :(

Hey Rydian, love the trainer but I have a problem. When I close the Trainer and disabled all the cheats and went back into StarBound, the infinite mercy invincibility is still active. Any ideas on what do do?

    Exit starbound and start again.''
Make sure to not have them ALL active. It tends to bug out when you have infinite stacks+Infinite use.

Good to know the screen dimming has an actual use other than bringing the prompt to the user's attention!
If somebody doesn't want to lower it, you can try minimizing Starbound to the system tray before opening the trainer.

And yeah there's no proper godmode right now. The current alpha ("beta" just in name) of Starbound is so slow to load and buggy and crashy (not to mention a gigantic RAM hog) that it's rather annoying to develop cheats for at the moment. I do intend to figure something out, it's just right now I'm more interested in playing it (and not crashing) than hacking it, so the mercy invincibility thing is just so you all at least have something for now.

The way these cheats work is that when you enable them, the trainer scans Starbound's RAM for the right snippets of assembly that have been loaded, then it edits those snippets in RAM. When you disable the code, it edits them back to the originals. This means that if you enable a code and then close the trainer, the code stays enabled. You just need to close Starbound for the edits to go away though.

Also note that the main trainer only tries to attach to the normal starbound.exe. If you're using the OpenGL version, you'll want to use the second link I put in the first post just now.

EDIT: Updated with some more codes, also bundled the opengl version into the normal zip since people said it works.

Glad to see you're working on Starbound as well, Rydian. You did some fine work with the Terraria Trainer.

Thanks! I'd like to make this one as fleshed out as the Terraria one, but I'm holding off on major work because of the promise of rapid updates, and Starbound is trickier than Terraria (due to sharing functions between enemies and players).

I've gotta' say never, sorry. Not only do I not have a Mac, OSX just doesn't have the same level of debugging tools, languages, libraries, and APIs that exist for Windows (and Linux) that would allow me to make something like this as easily and quickly as I can do already.

Thanks! Almost 3,000 downloads so far.

With the billion pixels cheat all my pixels now are worth just 1 :c HALP
EDIT: well it all turned out for the worse, ALL my items, inventory or not were reset at 1, including all my chests galaxy-wide :c
EDIT 2.0: ACROSS ALL SAVES, OH MY TRIPPIN' GAWD THE PAIN IS UNBEARABLE

EDIT: Turns out it was the food/drugs code edit, and would only happen if the code was on at the title screen and while you were loading a save, it's since been fixed/removed.

Hey, I just used the latest version of the trainer and found a peculiar bug with it.

When I activate the codes while aboard the ship, I can hear "loud" static in place of footstep sounds, followed shortly after with a C++ runtime error.
I think it might be because of the never get cold cheat, but I'll take another short test with the trainer. Sorry if this has already been posted!

EDIT: You can still "Dupe" with the dupe code even if you don't have 2 of an item.
-> Open a chest, and shift click the item you want to dupe. It will deposit a duplicate of the item!

EDIT2: The hunger code while in the ship causes the game to crash/freeze. I'll check the cold code now, as well as anything that configures warmth in the config files of my client.

EDIT3: The cold and Air codes cause a static sound in the game when walking in the ship; I'll keep looking for anything else. (These issues are only on the ship, and I am assuming it's because something about the addresses change.)
