I can't seem to start Starbound. I've reinstalled multiple times, downloaded Visual C++ or whatever it was, and Starbound refuses to run at all. The launcher doesn't open, I simply get this message upon first starting the game:

I don't know what to do. I'm running Windows 7, so it should be compatible.

EDIT: Once running the starbound.exe file in the win64 folder, I got the api-ms-win-crt-runtime-l1-1-0.dll error message. As I've said, I've installed Visual C++ 2015 and do not know how else to solve the problem.

I know. But whenever I run the game through Steam, it gives me that message. I can't seem to run the game any other way.

You can launch it directly from the win32 / win64 folder in your starbound installation folder. But it's very odd that steam is trying to launch the linux version. I never encountered such a behaviour and i'm unsure if it is a steam issue or a starbound issue :/ Are you running steam in a comptibility mode or anything?

I've just updated the post. I already tried to run the 64 bit version.
