"Now that we are finally back on track, I suppose it is about high time I finally reveal what my intentions are for this group. You see, I hired you folks to attempt to locate and retrieve a certain...almost mythical...artifact. One that has been mentioned in practically countless writings that date back to as far back as the ancient Egreneoth empire. whom you've probably heard of...yes?"
-ingold "Now i see why you sent me that letter. No, never heard of 'em" He talks directly to the professor, apparently disregarding the others in the room
Kamilia uncrosses her arms and leans forward, a hand extended to gingerly pluck an apple from the bountiful feast spread upon the table. She eyes it thoughtfully before glancing up at Ingold with a mischievous glint in her eyes. "Haven't heard of them, eh? How could you not?" She smirks and holds up the waxy fruit. "Did you want one? This fruit suits you."
'In passing yes, I'm am not a scholar but I have seen it mentioned in several spell tomes. Their knowledge is something many mages aspire to attain.' Fondev leans his staff against the table, and leans forward himself, fully focused. ------------------------------------------------------------------------ Alfhild pays attention to the scholar, wanting to find out what he wanted them, and more specifically her, for.
An ice cream with chocolate fudge... Copper strolls merrily down the streets of Nimeshee, before coming across a certain ice cream stand. "Hey Liz," He nods at the boleax with familiarity. "I'll have a single scoop of vanilla in a cone.... with fudge." The short woman smiles at Copper in turn. "Certainly! My, my, Copper, it's been a while hasn't it?" The bird in question clicks his beak thoughtfully, the cheery tone of voice fading. "Indeed. I've been running some... errands for you. Sorry it took so long." Copper fishes into his pocket and reveals a plastic bag with three golden coins inside, dangling said bag in front of Liz's face. "I've got them though." Liz hands Copper his cone before dropping a few similar coins into the same bag. "Excellent. I'd say we should be packing up shop soon, don't you?" "Yeah. It's about that time. Are we going to be stopping by the museum on our way?" "Of course." "Should we go together or split up?" "Split up. It's safer that way." "Right." And with that, the toucan-beaked quin walks off, turning down a street and fading from Liz's view. After helping a few more customers, Liz does the same, choosing a different path. She leaves the stand behind. Upon her departure, the ice cream begins to melt under the heat of the sun.
"I'm no expert.." Refitting the cylinder on his revolver and returning it to the holster, then after a false start and turning back once, heads over and grabs an apple as well from the table, lightly twirling it in his palm.
- He stares down at the fruit in front of him, a brief glint of confusion crossing his eyes. His face seems to shudder for a second. "If i wanted it, i would have already sunken my teeth into one," he snaps.
Fieke gives a bit of a frown, as she slightly shakes her head. Mythical stuff and ancient history was completely out of her field of expertise. "If it is relevant, you might need to enlighten us, herr professor."
Altim smirks, "Although I've never heard of that particular empire, I have dealt with my fair share of strange and dangerous items during my travels. I would love a quick history lesson as well. I'm Altim by the way."
"A small town in Aldria, not many people have heard of it. Although that's just my birth home, I'm a traveler. How about yourself?"
"I was born and raised in the arenas of Romzt. I have recently begun travelling as well. We should speak more later. I believe the scholar desires to raise his voice."
Wordlessly, Kamilia sets down the apple and leans forward to pick up a peach instead. She leans back in her chair and pulls a switchblade from her boot, cutting a sizeable chunk from the fleshy fruit. She eats it thoughtfully and waits for the scholar to continue.
"For those of who whom are somehow unaware of the ancient Egreneoth empire, I shall enlighten you. You see, the Egreneoth empire was one of the two precursor empires that spanned across all of romoraul in the times of old. They were constantly at war with the other precursor empire of that era..the Quireinals. Not much is really known about the Quirenals, as much of the their doccuments that allow for the translation of their language was utterly destroyed during the Eon War...which was a war so large, it cause both the Egreneoth and the Quirenal races to go completely extinct. Isn't that something? A war so large that it paved the total annihilation of not one, but two empires simultaneously...and only in one week. The Eon War makes the Great War look like a mere drunken skirmish in compairison.
Fieke gives a bitter glare at that last comment. "Drunken skirmish... Don't trivialize a war that ruined the lives of millions. So, two foolish empires destroyed themselves; no doubt with weapons that obliterated entire cities. What do you expect this artifact to be? One of the weapons used? Perhaps such atrocities should be left buried."
Aukur frowns, looking at Fieke, before looking back at the scholar. "I agree with her. The war was long and bloody. It should not be trivialized. What is it we are seeking?"
