Roleplay in Starbound

Try to roleplay when ever I can, it's fun and exciting. It can also increase your grammatical skills by far if you roleplay with others and y ou notice how they do stuff, and you take use of the English language. =)

So therefor, RP is deff for me! and going to be on a few servers in starbound.

 

Reminds me of Minecraft Hardcore RP with friends I've made several months ago. We started with nothing but a Book and Quill where we wrote our experiences day after day. My journal looked like this :
Day 1 : Some stuff about getting wood
Day 2 : Some stuff about getting stone
Day 3 : *empty* (I got killed by a crowd after falling in a mine)
If my first game is RP in Starbound, it will look like this :
Day 1 : I have landed on this planet. Hope I'll be able to survive... I need to search for metals to make me some equipment. This cavern seems very deep; Let's taAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH *thud*
At least this is what it wlould have looked like in Terraria.

 

I personally RP with my friends and clan. We'll be having a server and though RP is not necessary, we hope the non-RPers stay away from us... I guess the large galaxy will really help with that

I roleplay, but not over voice. I reserve my luscious tones for strategy.

Roleplay enriches an experience like this for me, so if I can find it to be had, I will have it.

 

In fact, where can I find these roleplay clans? Would definitely like to look into this.

I personally just RP in chat. I could voice act but I just don't ever feel like it.

 

I'm going to roleplay as a glitch raider. Kinda poor, and he does it to survive. He pretty much steals, and will only fight when cornered, or attacked first.. He'll try to avoid fights and flee.... That is, until his home planet is destroyed. Then he finds real things. Then I'll write up my story from up there.

 

Have never role-played in a video game like in WoW. Would love to finally try it in Starbound.

 

I have never liked voice RP too much, I feel like I can't adequately capture the voice of my characters.

 

I'll most likely be roleplaying in starbound at one point or another. I'll also me happy if it has a /e or /emote system like Terraria did.

 

I already love RP to death. Couldn't stand WolfMimir's idea on VC though, way too shy to even try. (I can RP through text quite nicely. )
I should have already had a post around here about this... Meh, can't find it , anyhoo: I'll RP alot. I have a crappy internet though, so it might actually depend on how Starbound's lag is like for me.

(I RP alot and I mean alot. Sometimes in my head, sometimes out loud (to myself ). I constantly think of RP backstories abd how to portray them. I can make a decent-nearly full one in around 30 secs to a min. I can get a start of a story in under 15 seconds and "wing it" pretty well.)

 

Roleplaying has always been a interest of mine, though I never did it particularly often. I don't know if I will in Starbound. If someone wanted me to join the roleplay group I probably would go for it, but other wise I'd leave it for Tabletops like D&D and Dungeon World.

 

I love me some roleplay, but could never really get to it.
But why, you ask.
Other roleplayers. Untill not long ago I have never played on any servers besides Polish ones... And it's kinda sad to say that about my own nation, but... they are dumb, at least in online games .-. RP with them was not possible.

No fears. Necroing is not against the rules here, as long as you add to the discussion, which you did.

As for me, I'm going to wait for the game to stabilize a bit before I get into roleplaying. At the moment, character wipes loom, and I'm more interested in finding bugs than in building characters.

 

A lot of the Floran players seemed to have latched on to rollplay.

But you can blame the gestalt pronoun for that.

 

There seems to be a great deal of yiffing, I don't know if that's of any interest to you.

 

Immersion is important in a game like this, i believe. If you really want to sink into the game you create a persona for your character and a fitting background. Although it seems Starbound has decided beforehand your role as you create your character, you can always decide for yourself your experiences.
One of the greatest features of this game is the very simple but different personalities. As far as i know it only changes your idle pose but it can define your character. Starbound definitely has roleplay potential.
