The Roadmap is really cool. Seems that you've done much of the "core" stuff. Atleast it looks like most stuff is allready done (not counting bug fixing or tweaking and such).

If i understand correctly than the map shows us the progress towards beta. And if the preorder stuff becomes reality i also assume it isn't that far away, otherwise defeating the preorder bevor beta option.

Am i correct?

Firefox wouldn't load it for an unknown reason.
Chrome currently crashes on me like there is no tomorrow.
I switched to Safari.
It worked.

 

This is exciting. I'm glad I came to this thread, the comments under the blog post were getting me bummed out. Why are people over there such whiners?

First thing I noticed as well. :-(
I hope they haven't pushed pet training back to 1.1 release. (but I'd be ok if that was necessary to get a 2013 release)

 

If they keep this updated, it would be awesome to see a time-lapse when the game is finally completed.

But seriously, now when people ask why the game isn't released when it "look" so complete, we can point them to this. Now you can really see that a lot of things aren't ready yet.

 

First thing first.... Kudos to the devs once again for making such an amazing, interactive representation of Starbound's progress. This is much, much more than I expected when I first heard the term "roadmap".

That said, just a couple questions:

1) When the roadmap is updated, will there be some kind of visual cue or other indication that it has been? Basically I'm wondering how an observer will be able to know "at a glance" that a specific section of the map has been updated.

2) Are we to assume that all of the items shown will need to be at 100% before beta is launched? I'm only asking because it has previously been mentioned that certain things (vehicles and quest system come to mind) may not make it for beta, yet they are shown in the roadmap.

Good questions Goose... I was wondering the exact same things. How will we know how much progress is getting done? Looks like all the major things are out of the way though. Keep it up!

roadmap to the beta? ok guys see ya in 3-5 months...

 

The roadmap looks great, you can tell they put a lot of effort into it. It's interesting to see what's done, what's nearly done, what needs work. And the little devsprites bebopping all over the planet are a nice touch.

Do you think they'll have some kind of "Roadmap updated!" notification or indicator? I really want to prevent myself from checking it constantly.
