Revving up

I am a huge optimist, but in the past week, a lot of shit has gone down. Preorder, Novakids, fossils, AMA. That means that something is going to happen. Don't wanna jinx it, knock on wood and all that but

 

I think it is still several months away at best. I think sometime mid to late summer at the earliest would be an optimistic estimate if all goes well behind the scenes.

 

I honestly hope that it's a decent amount of time away. Not that time == progress, but usually it's good not to rush things!

 

I just hope it's far away so I have time for my parents to let me Pre-Order!

oh man...why do i see like a few hundred "Prepare yourself" memes when the beta is announced?

 

I believe the beta will be out in 2-4 weeks, but release in late summer.

 

WHy don't they say that?

"8 months" sounds A LOT better than "2013"

Tiy doesn't want to say when it'll be out because he could be wrong. If it was that close to being finished, wouldn't they know when it would be released, more or less?

Bah, I hit yes without thinking.

What I mean to say is this: I suspect the beta will arrive soon, but the final release will take a while.

 

I know it is, it just sounds like a lot less time for whatever reason.

 

I wouldn't get my hopes up, 'cause I'm sure many people here know better than I what happens when you get your hopes up and then... NOTHING.
I'm hoping the beta will be announced within the next month or so, but I doubt it would actually come out in that time frame.

 

I think by the end of summer we'd at least hear something about being able to play it.

 

I would Say BETA is coming, not soon, but till the Summer.
Sadly I must say also Too optimistic for the release date.

 

Hoping for beta in 2-3 months, at best. Release? Can't say for sure, but maybe summer? With the preorder, and all the progress some big things are happening. I think I can expect beta a few months away but don't wanna get to excited.

 

I think it will be progressing a lot quicker sense the team can work full time on this instead of having to work around a job of some sort.

I don't think its anywhere near release due to my past experience with ambitious games and expansion packs having a beta months before the finished game is out.

I'll use WoW as an example, they usually release a public beta 3 to 6 months before that expansion is out, then they close the beta a month before the game comes out. Same happened with Diablo 3. Granted that is Blizzard and not Chucklefish but i don't imagine they will release a beta a few weeks before the game comes out.

 

I mean, if pre-orders have only starting being sold this week...

I'd imagine the game would only arrive around 4-6 months later?

 

Since we are all spouting our opinions. I will throw mine out there.

I think we will see a beta at the end of June. Then I believe the dev team will test and fix bugs for two months and realease the 1.0 at the beginning of September. FTL: Faster Than Light had a similar calendar to this, and it worked out very, very well for them.
