Sorry haven't posted in a while. Just went through Mon-Wed of major Testing. And an emotional Breakdown, but notheless. I Had this idea while reading GameInformer's year old article on BorderLands 2. For the record, my brother is a BorderLands Fanatic, and that's the only reason I still have it. Or maybe Imma hoarder. lol Anywhat, I had the idea for retexturing your stuff. Like re-painting it, for people who don't understand what I'm saying. Say that you make a guy with a red shirt, but you being fickle you, want to change it to green. You could open a retexture menu, select the default shirt, and re-paint it. It would(n't( work with armours or some weapons/gear. Like a special white and gold armour set that couldn't be retextured to a black and silver set. Or could, which would be awesome. But, I could be an optional thing. If you like the white and gold design, you could keep it like that. But spammer/griefers/a**holes would probabbly put unmentionables on the armor or shirt. Man and Lady parts that aren't polite to see in public. Ick. But what do you think? would you like to reskin your armours and weapons? Or do you fear the compications that could arise from this? Let me know!
The ability to change the colors (primary, secondary, tertiary, etc) of the armor would probably be better, as the characters don't seem to be big enough to put any kind of recognizable design on them.
yeah going the route of guild wars two. you would open a panel and each piece of your armor would be in a different box with 3 areas that could be colored. you'd click on one of the sub boxes in lets say your chest piece. the biggest color sub box would be the main color the next biggest the trim and the last accessories of that piece. now saying this not all pieces of armor would have 3 areas to recolor.
If this were some sort of GUI that pops up when you activate say a machine on your space station, and the textures were all pre-designed in the system, then I could see something like this happening and would probably make use of it myself as well.
I responded on a post of yours with the black text. I'm not sure about armor but I think painting weapons has been announced, I'd still like to paint armor though.
