Closed [Resolved] OpenGL 2.0 not available

  1. Normally, I would have left the Unstable version alone, since it's unstable, but a friend managed to coax me to download it and try it. I didn't get very far.
    Whenever I try to open and launch it, this message always comes up:

    Once I click "OK", it stops responding, and Windows closes it.

    Yes, I have it set to nightly. I have manually deleted all Starbound content from my computer and reinstalled Unstable to try and fix it, but this still happens. I don't know what's wrong, other than that i'm apparently missing OpenGL 2.0, whatever that is.

    Any and all help to fix this problem would be appreciated, thanks!

    Looks like your graphic card doesn't support OpenGL 2.0 so it's a hardware restriction. The only thing you can do is upgrade your machine :(

    There you can find the system requirements but i must admit that the OpenGL part is only listed under Linux (but should be stated in the other sections too). Also it says 2.1 (never noticed though, that's why my first post here says 2.0)
    The OpenGL functions that are called/needed by Starbound in order to render the game needs at least a GPU that supports OpenGL 2.1 or higher. This is because of the render-instructions sent to the GPU by Starbound.

    So if your GPU doesn't support at least OpenGL 2.1 i'd recommend upgrading your hardware.
