Resolved: Cannot Cook Meat

For the quest "Food Fight", you are required to cook some alien meat. I successfully killed some aliens with the bow and gathered a few pieces of meat, and created a campfire, but the option to cook anything is not showing up in the crafting menu. I am standing right next to a campfire AND a crafting table and the only options available are:

• Wooden Crafting Table
• Torch (x2)
• Wood Platform
• Wood Plants (x3)
• Camp Fire
• Hunting Bow
• Bandage

I seared for "Cooked Alien Meat" in the search box and I also clicked the icon that looks like a piece of meat to see if perhaps it would show up in another tab.

I am playing in single player.

 

I'm having the same issue. I'm going to make a new character and see if it happens again.

 

Same, just been searching everywhere. It just cant be cooked... how annoying :/ only been playing like 20mins. Maybe I should make new char too? :s

 

Did you try pushing e to use the fire?

 

I had the same problem. Just click 'e' next to the campfire. Same with the crafting table...

Press "E", when campfire is highlighted and you're standing nearby, it should help.

Some things not so obvious in this game

 

You need to hover over the campfire and press E to open the campfire menu.

We should be able to cook from the crafting window too ..or at least that was what we were expecting xD

 

Agreed, or at least the tutorial should say "Press E when next to a campfire". Perhaps it's all the Terraria I've played that makes me think standing next to the crafting station means it will show up in the crafting menu.

 

feels kinda uneccesary to have a separate interface for that. just having the meat selected and clicking on the fire would suffice?
