Reset Solo Universe?

Hey All,

The patches recommend starting a new character/universe. My question is, if I play solo, is simply starting a new character enough? My understanding is that characters share the same universe. If this is so, wouldn't my current universe be the one generated directly after the character wipe? And not a newly generated universe using the latest patch?

 

All you should have to do is start a new character. You really don't have to unless you are having problems or missing something though.

 

Most times the planets are generated only when you visit them (the exception is that each time you log in, an alpha planet generates; seems to be a bug in how starting worlds are created). It is likely only necessary to a) visit a new world or b) delete all the .world file sin the universe folder.

I tend toward overkill, though, and remove all contents of both the universe and player folders when starting over after a patch. Just to be sure.

 

I might do the same Tanek. I want to start a new Char and ensure Im seeing the latest version everywhere. Thanks for the responses!
