Closed Reset SAIL?

I was messing with my ship and didnt make a backup until too late. Now my ship is on tier three, but havent actually left the planet yet. If I downgrade to tier two, I dont have the quest to upgrade my FTL drive, but if I try to travel to the outpost or any other planet (with spawned in fuel) I just get an error sound. I cant figure out why my ship isnt working, so if somebody could help me with that or just help me reset SAIL I would really appreciate it!
