Replantable trees need to be a priority.

I agree that the lack of replanting requires more exploration and i LOVE that. However, a late game tech to replant trees would be nice since you will be exploring for other things at that point

 

Except when you cut down all the trees yet have no other planets to go to because you can't beat the first boss because you can't get the gear to do so?

 

Add me to the list of people who wants to be able to plant trees!
Mostly for aesthetic value. Trees make a village feel more alive and cozy, and who doesn't like cozy!?

 

I did find out you could cut the trees usually in halves or some times into thirds. I'm still waiting around But I am not sure if it'll ever grow.

 

Should really be able to plant trees. Not only because they're trees and they are something people plant in real life, but because they can look really nice if you set them up how you want. Especially if you can bring other trees to other planets.

Hello, first post here. This is indeed a problem for me since my first planet I landed on is a mushroom one. So I had to walk and walk in order to find trees.
Since then I had to build my base near these trees and every time I die, I have to walk all the way back. So, a way to replant trees would be nice. I hope the developers find an idea to implement this feature in a great way.

 

I just hope they will put in sapling kind of items in this game, as most of my structures I build is made out of wood.

 

trees need to be renewable. NEED TO BE. i honestly cant believe that this wasn't implemented early on

 

Yeah, I also got really unlucky with my first character. I've found 2 trees so far on my planet. >_<

 

Something similar happened to me on my second character. He landed on a "forest" planet with no trees.

 

i have a makeshift solution for people who are desperate for wood. what you do is you run a second instance of the client program and crate a sacrificial character. you then start a server and connect both of your chars to it. you can then freely go to the planet generated for your sacrificial character and ransack the place. once you have all that you need you can disconnect it and delete it.

 

i host a server with my main character...5 people on my home world, it's pretty much a barren wasteland except for a small cluster i asked people to leave there.

conceptually, wood being non-renewable is an interesting idea but in practice it's just going to make people create new characters to sac their home world wood from

 

You don't have to beat the first boss to explore alpha planets, just get to your ship, drop coal on the fuel tank till it get to 200 fuel (100 coals) and then sit on the cockpit.. you can travel. Travelling on nearby planets is also free .

 

Same! I started my second character & got a barren wasteland.... yet there were like, 5 million trees for me. hahaha

 

I too think there should be a method to regrow trees. I played two characters in two forest biomes so far and both ran out of wood.
I mean, there are so many trees in the background - I hope they implement the forest in the foreground, too.

 

Yes, they definitely need to add replantable trees into the game, I've walked around my whole planet a whole heap only to find no wood, but one cool feature, the fact that you can walk all the way around the planet.

 

Ran out of trees between two ravines today on starting planet. Couldn't climb up cuz I couldn't make a pick. It was tight. We had to dig our way out with matter manipulates, and when those broke, our teeth.

 

Man multiplayer is going to be rough without replantable trees especially for new arrivals to servers where the starting world has been picked clean.
For that reason alone I can't imagine them not implementing tree saplings/seeds especially when you consider just how many crafted items require wood.

I hope they implement it very soon.
