Closed Repeated keypresses on slower machine

When I press on a key on my (slow) system, sometimes it will register the keypress more than once. It happens both when switching hotbar items as well as typing into a text entry box. This isn't simply a typematic issue since I can press other keys and the letters will be interleaved in the text box, e.g. I can type "R" and then "T" quickly and "rtr" will show up in the text entry box.

This doesn't show up on new characters, only on an existing character that has progressed somewhat through the game. It also happens regardless of the load on my system, whether my cores are pegged or not.
