Viruses are very nasty and can basically get into and infect anything organic. Here's a good article: http://www.webmd.com/a-to-z-guides/bacterial-and-viral-infections
I made some corset examples of ways you could wear it with color/modify options. ( Yes, I understand that this may not coincide with the current SB clothing system.)
The way I see it, their body is made of hollow gem shells that look like an articulated mannequin, with the articulation covered in a flexible film imitatin the optical properties of the surrounding shells, and inside that shell there's the biological parts of the Gemétoiles. What I want to know is if they have a jaw, and what can be seen when they open it.
wow these are really awsome and provide so many more customazation option i really hope that the developer see some of the wonderful stuff in this forum
Gemetoile... HOW THE HELL DO YOU PRONOUNCE THAT?! Seriously, I hate French. It's the most wicked language on this world. (moreso than the Polish that I speak myself)
I'm planning for them to indeed eat (and even grow crops) basically their mouth would be almost invisible hairline fractures on their face (so small that its not noticeable) that open and literally tear food to shreds to the point that its so small its not even see-able with the naked eye and the organic fibers can absorb them. However one "Secret" of the Gemmies is that science doesn't know how their internal workings function due to the fact that their fibers undergo a strange rapid decomposition upon death, the moment they stop living the small fibers in their body rapidly decompose far faster then any scientist can study them. By the point any scientist would find one, they would already be just a nonliving pile of gemstones. This means the actual internal side of the gems is very much a mystery. How to pronounce Gemétoile http://translate.google.com/#fr/en/Gemétoile Go to that link and press the little speaker icon.
that would make it difficult to study the species when dead which is really intresting and the names pronucation is just as elegant as the race seems
Would-would it be possible for a scientist to capture one while it's still alive and keep the Gemmie living while he/she opens up the Gemetoile?
I think they would. But, it's FOR SCIENCE. I would also assume that it'd be possible. Time to wait for the canon-master to appear! No Gemmies were harmed in the making of this post
That would probably be considered torture, if the Gemétoile was captured and didn't instead just give his body to the progress of gem science.
i guess it depends on wether or not it was volantary and couldnt they use something similar to anespetic to prevent pain during the process
I don't really ant to get into the inner Biology of the race to be honest, not everything has to be explained. I mean "its a game, you don't have to go that in-dept explaining things." And to anyone who would argue "yes you do" I say, no I do not. I don't want to explain how they work biologically because I do not feel its needed and that is that. Also yes tearing open a Gemmie would be considered torture as they can feel it, and it would probably kill them. On another note seriously guys? This is a fancy race with shiny gem people and all you can think about it pulling them apart? WTF?!
lol i was thinking of it along the more beneficial line for things like surgery for the race (you never know what could happen with viruses) kinda why i said anespetic but i think most people here are curious to wether or not it would be possible to learn about the biological workings through a living one though i understand that you dnt want to and i will respect that by not asking you to talk about the biological working of the insides.
I really don't want to have to design an entire biological system for them, you don't see one for any of the official races so why should I be expected to give one?
I'm sick like that. I also appreciate you just not ignoring this; and I understand you not wanting to give a whole debriefing on their inner workings.
What a beautiful concept and sprites! C'est magnifique! I wish I had enough artistic abilities to draw a concept-art of them... One can dream...
