Rename Planets?

Will we have the option to give the planets names? I would like to call planets names as I then can then revisit planets I find interesting.

 

Haven't seen that anywhere, but it sounds like a nice idea. I wonder if it'd be workable in multiplayer, though. I can imagine the grief wars over a planet's name, if everyone can change it.

 

My friend made a giant wooden sign on a tentacle planet that said. WELCOME TO JAPAN. But on that note, I think someone already suggested a bookmarking planets system and outpost system if I'm not mistaken.

It was originally in the works if I remember. I was alittle disappointed that it wasn't in Beta. But I'm sure its a feature they intend to implement

 

Tentacle Japan or the bookmark System? Joking, yeah it would be nice to have it relatively soon. I don't like settling on one planet, I usually make outposts on notable planets. Must expand my Kingdom of Castles across the universe .

 

I feel you on that one. Exploring the star system is proving very difficult without it.

I had an idea for servers, whoever discovers it has the option to name it, then its locked to that name unless the discoverer either renames it or removes their claim, or if they don't name it, the next player along gets the option etc.

 

Renaming planets would absolutely be a gnarly idea of 'claiming' a planet, what with block protection and so on, would make for a fun bit of world building I never considered even. I like it. Would be pretty cool for Multiplayer to be able to name stuff in a system, or name the system? Maybe one day~

Renaming planets sounds cool and all, but what we ALSO need is the ability to rename STAR SYSTEMS if I could change my ridiculous star system name from Horse-butt Nebula to something more decent I can die happy.
