Opinion: I want to rename my planets and stellar systems. Benefit: If a system search function is added, this would help me find my stuff much more easily. Even if not, it would help when talking about systems and planets to other people on the same server. Even in single player, it would make me happy to be able to name my planets creatively.
I like the idea but when the log is implemented it'll have the same benefits you listed (I would think) If logs were shareable somehow that'd be even better, comparing notes / compounding databases of data *-*
What, you don't want to name your forest moon Endor? You don't want to name your desert planet Arrakis? Naming planets isn't just functional.
