Remove/improve hunger system?

I agree with most of this. But your kind of making it a little too "Don't Starve" :p. I think that hunger should be a greater aspect in Starbound but not TOO realistic. I agree with disadvantages with being a little too hungry but hallucinations seems a bit over the top. I think eating while full shouldn't do anything until you eat 5 pieces of food after your full. I don't really agree with food spoiling it would be a little to hard to keep your stock on food, you know?

I think the hunger aspect of the game will be updated soon. Its still beta & I think they've done a lot of work on the game already. :)

That list was just a brainstorm, I didn't mean to say that all of them at once should be implemented, just a few. To me I think there should be something stopping players from creating bulk foods, especially if those foods buff in any way. The only thing that should be easily obtainable is not as filling meals, or meals with no buffs. This could be done by making some ingredients slower to grow with difficult to find seeds. That way you could fill up on bread all you like but you wont get the super buff foods till later in the game, and even then you'll get them only so often.

True that. My suggestion was made based upon my casual singleplayer experience - I don't do multiplayer at all, so I didn't even think of this. However, for the singleplayer version a pause function would be great. Maybe the hunger system could be tweaked some for multiplayer?

Dunno, what about pausing with a help of sitting on chairs or something? You know, it makes sense logic-wise since sitting or lying in bed (Although think sleeping hunger pause is already implemented) does consume less energy, not to mention practical use given to furniture and ability to easily afk in multiplayer or whatever.

    doesnt need to make sense.

Still, making sense is a bonus.

Terraria had an option to freeze the game whenever the inventory menu was brought up, but it only worked in single player. Something like that then?

Terraria would automatically pause if you alt tabbed.

This is a good thing, Starbound devs. I mean, gambling on a 50/50 chance I might crash is fun too but...you know...

    I agree with some of the food suggestions, except for 2;
    1. Food spoiling <-- In Don't Starve this basically made it so you couldn't adventure very far from your food sources, which hinders one of the great parts and sorta required to do stuff, mechanic of the game: To Explore.
I'm flying around in a gigantic galaxy with a FTL drive... my food is in stasis because the premise of the game isn't Martha Stewart's Home and Gardening; It's fly to a giant rock and run across it checking it out!

    2. I think making food more scarce is a bad idea. Again, food isn't the driving part of this game, it's just an additional system that gives you some bonuses sometimes, and is there to keep you kinda on your toes. If anything, I would like to see more access
to the various races' food recipes, as the best food combinations come from other races than the one I play. As it is right now, its most efficient for me to grow wheat and make bread... as a Glitch. All of the 'glitch-like', 'robot-like' food stuffs and recipes I am unable to make
and do not have the best bonuses anyway, which means I will be hunting down the human recipes for better bonuses.

As the way StarBound is now I would rather see completion of the tier system and quests than an even more in-depth food system.

And yes it would be nice if there was a Pause. But I believe that has been said and beaten to death in other threads.

While sleeping and sitting does currently make your hunger freeze, it doesn't make you invincible. You can still get attacked by monsters or players. You can freeze to death, be hit by a meteor, etc. It's fine as it is now, since you can't just put down a chair in the middle of combat, sit and evade all consequence.

    This.

A lot of races get the unfair short end of the stick when it comes to their food buffs. Floran and Humans get it awesome, they can make their Full-Meter Decent Buff Foods right at the beginning of the game (they only need Raw Alien Meat + the stuff they started with). Floran can carry bread for those times they don't want to waste a Meat&Marrow; Humans can carry around Sweet Corn when they don't want to waste a Hamburger, for example.

Some of the other races? Meh.
