Hi, I have now several times accidently removed a chest, resulting in an inventory full of items that shouldn't be there. My suggestion is that it should either take longer to remove a chest with items in it, or it should be necessary to hold down shift in order to remove it.
Were you trying to drill out blocks around said chest? If so holding Shift will allow you to work with a 1x1 instead of 2x2.
And, NEVER EVER be holding your pickaxe/drill when touching your chest, I've durped on that a couple of times and whoopsie-daisied myself. Open holding your flashlight- pretend it lets you see inside better
I kinda see where Zal's coming from. I support that you can't break down chests if they contain stuff.
Although likely not intentional, the title sounded misleading to me, like it was a suggestion to remove chests from the game. I support the second suggestion of having to hold down shift to break down chests. Sure you can simply not hold a mining tool while opening chests, but its the little things that can help. This would likely also have to apply to whatever is supporting the chest. Terraria made chests and the blocks below them unbreakable if it contained any items.
I really don't want chests to be unbreakable if they contain stuff - Terraria's chests are a pain in the ass to move around for that reason. They can take longer to mine.
well other than that your pc is going to lagg fantastically due the item sprites, or that they may accidently despawn... I don't know why not.
Definitely should just take longer, and platforms they are on should not break until after the chest breaks, similar to how dirt and trees works.
This is a very important feature that is used to determine if that Floran is a guy or a girl. We can't remove it, even if it's largely cosmetic and panders to people that like anthropomorphic stuff. Wait, what are you talking about?
Well, there have been threads in the past stating that the chests of Avian/Floran/whatever races should be identical between male and female characters, as that race does not use them for the same purposes that human females do. Thus, "removal of chests". This was an attempt at making a joke, since I like the idea of not being able to accidentally remove storage units, and wanted to bump the thread.
I support the idea of "invincible" chests if not empty. I don't know how many times I whacked a piece of fine sand or gravel and later on discover a bunch of crap on my character I don't remember picking up. Then I'm like "blah, stupid chests..."
I'm team 'Chests Take Longer to Break' all the way. Because sometimes, when I find a chest out in the wild and it has a bunch of goodies, I don't feel like clicking each of those goodies into my inventory - I just wanna break that thing and scoop up them goodies.
