Religion in starbound

I am wondering about the role religion will play in starbound .(been playing too much crusader kings 2 lately) I understand that the avians are hyper religious(as to be expected by an Aztec inspired society) but I am wondering about the other races. The glitch should also be very religious since they are in the dark ages or at least have it in their program since they are meant to be a simulation of sentient life. Any thoughts on the religion of other races and if it will be in game.

 

I think that religion will mostly be in the lore, though there will probably be some sort of religious temple in avian settlements and some of the random things they say when you click on them will probably reference it too.

Any race I meet will praise the God Emperor, or face extermination... Simple as that.

 

1: Build temple to the great banana
2: smite / kill / torture everyone that looks funny at the temple
3: All praise be to the great banana
4: go to new planet, rinse and repeat

On topic: Maybe there will be quests involving the player's/others' religion?

 

I imagine the Avians would have some religious temples and stuff. Humans may have religion in the lore depending on what way they go with it, but I haven't seen much to indicate that. I agree that glitch would probably make sense to have some type technology/program-oriented religion. They could worship their Great Programmer, who first created them

I'd like to see something like this in the game just to add more depth.

 

I could really see Avians having a god of some sort.

 

It would be very interesting to have a " sort " of religion into the game, due to there being multiple races (It seems?) they may all have different cultural values and beliefs and which would make to complying with their needs a even more sought out goal!

Civilization V is a blast with the Gods and Kings DLC.
Gaining prophets and what not and sending them to other cities and watching the world follow a religion you created is PHun.

Especially if it's Pastafarianism or about Talos
