Sorry to burst your bubble, but Roadmap has not been a viable source of checking development progress for quite a long time. Everything you've seen on it has never changed for a couple months. I don't blame the devs though, updating Roadmap means less time developing the game.
The roadmap is outdated. That's not really a valid comeback. If you did your research, which would have taken you about 20 seconds to do, you would have read the very first part of the update for the 5th and 6th. And if you went into it a little bit more, you might have noticed that they've been saying that they've BEEN GETTING THE GAME READY FOR BETA. That morphball is NOT a representation of what they've been working on these last few days, it's to give us something to look at!
You mean focusing 1 person on an animation out of like 30? Theres a thing called tech in the game. The metroid ball I'm assuming is a tech item. Do you want a metroid ball where its just a person floating in a walking pose to a different place cause theres no animation for it? EDIT: also honestly the morph ball would've taken like 30 minutes to create. Btw you forgot a period at the end of the sentence.
I dont see how its not valid, please explain. @Archer edited my post cause that comparison was fucking stupid.
Yes, the beta, Now people will stop accusing the devs of waving there dicks around (except molly ) when they don't know how much time it takes to develop a game like starbound
Because, asking someone who has no experience in making games to do a better job is unreasonable. It's not his job. That's why.
I'm not one for high hopes, but does anyone else feel the game is drawing close to beta? Like, in a few more days? I get this feeling the post concerning steam or DRM-free means they're making a final check by looking at community consensus before throwing the game through the loops for steam early-release.
Then he should not put up such a bad attitude, and instead appreciate the efforts of the team behind this masterpiece. It just pissed me off you know.
okay, this is my opinion so no offense to people that disagree is meant. option #1 too slow I think option #2 sounds like best option, but the DRM-Free version sounds like it would just constantly be catching up to steam version. option #3 I feel is best option merely because it will hopefully allow for the fastest progression passed Progenitor stage. so in my opinion I vote #3, and I'm sorry that it leave some people out who use the DRM-Free version.
Much happier being able to access it from my steam account. But its also good to hear that people will be able to or may be able to get a DRM-Free version.
Why does no one care about HOW a game uses steam more than whether or not steam is involved? Steam is just a distribution platform. Even Gabe Newell doesnt agree with parts of steam - I believe he has different ideals in comparison to Valve. I could be wrong. But seriously. A game on steam can be 100% independant of steam to launch, in effect, DRM Free. So how is this game going to use Steam, because if it is the latter, then it won't mean a thing wether or not you have a stand alone download file or wether or not you want people to redeem a code through steam because the game will be portable. And makes the most sense. And is easy to update. So can we get an official stickied response on this so we can be done with this argument?
