Refunds

There is this forum I go on and there is a Starbound thread in the games topic. Lately I've been seeing all this stuff with the devs like the horse troll and people being banned, a lot. I don't mean to cause trouble but they say you guys are mostly mucking around with stuff which I don't completely believe. But most importantly some of them are asking for refunds because of this if stuff doesn't start to progress more. I know its still an alpha and you guys are working on things.

 

How many hours have you put into the alpha, by chance

I have like 800 (a chunk from hosting a server) and I would feel bad asking for a refund after already gotten a lot for my money, at least.

 

The banned mook on the sister game forum? You might want to not listen to the doubleplus ungruntled.

It's 15 freaking bucks.

That's like, two hamburger meals at a fast food joint, dammit.

Try spending 200+ on a lifetime sub to a game that becomes a very obvious sinking ship one day after its official launch, then you have something to complain about.

People are just pathetic creatures. They wouldn't know a "scam" if it punched them between the eyes.

 

This is not only about the refund.
This is that feeling of the dev laughing of everyone.
The horse troll is nothing, but add all the stuff they had do, all the ban (some people need to be banned...but well...)
how they refuse to answers the questions/critic of people because they are troll (who care they are troll or not if the question/critic is good)
How they had move, saying: "we can't update we move" and after that, they choose to make only a big update when
people was ALREADY waiting since 2 month.

The dev are working hard. Really hard, I am sure of that... (it is probably EXTREMELY hard... creating, dealing with people)
but they make a lot of people feeling used... and trolled...
That's a lot of frustration.
Most of hate are totally imaginary stuff but sometime, the dev(and moderator) only feed them by their reactions.
And must people are not able to tell you that frustration in a good way...
(and I don't think I am able to...)

And it is an useless information but I had almost 300 hours in that game, including moddling...
and I got it since the release and I don't regret it... it is just... that feeling sometime.

 

That's a pretty broad and contemptuous generalisation, just saying.

Sadly, everyone seems to think ducks are platypuses.

If the internet has done anything bad for us, it is that it has allowed people with a complete lack of critical thinking and no ability to draw proper conclusions to group up and act in force. Well, it's made it easier anyway.

You have to go through your distributor. So if you bought the game on Steam -- you have to ask steam. If you did happen to get a copy of Starbound direct from chucklefish, I suggest posting here.

Don't worry about the naysayers -- there's a lot of lies and misinformation being spread. Along with some very angry trolls.
